Ultimate Canine

We could not recommend Carissa and Ultimate Canine more! We did 10 sessions with Carissa for our new puppy, Marshall, and she was absolutely amazing to work with. She helped us work through every issue or challenge that came up and gave us the tools and confidence to continue reinforcing everything at home. Marshall is now 9 months old, and we constantly get compliments on how well behaved he is in public. We can take him just about anywhere and feel confident knowing he’ll be the best-behaved boy! One of the biggest highlights for us was being able to take Marshall on a week-long trip where he swam, hiked, and explored right alongside us. He was able to be off leash, and we had complete confidence that he would listen and come back when called. Being able to include him in adventures like that is exactly what we hoped for when we started training. Carissa was patient, knowledgeable, supportive, and truly wonderful to work with. The difference she made in Marshall’s behavior — and in our confidence as dog owners — has been incredible. If you’re considering training for your dog, we cannot recommend Carissa and Ultimate Canine enough!

7 month old puppy attended Stay and Train program for a month. His trainer Joe Cruz established a strong bond with our pup and he learned many important commands such as Come, Place, Sit, Down Stay, loose-leash walking and more. The result is truly impressive. We have also used their boarding & day care services and the standard of care is very high. I highly recommend Ultimate K9! Special thanks to Joe, and to Lexi too!

We are two weeks into having our Ultimate Canine trained therapy dog here at DentalSpa and this might be the best decision I have made in my 22 years of business! There are no words I can write to explain how she has bettered our already amazing practice! The patients LOVE her and the team loves her! It is hard to be anxious or cranky with her around! Sheila was and continues to be AMAZING as he did our handler training and has been SO GOOD at following up and being helpful and quick to answer questions as we have navigated these first two weeks! My wife, Barb, and I recently retired and moved back to the Indianapolis area, specifically Westfield, and needed to find a good boarding facility our 7-year-old, pure-bred German Shepherd, Callie, and our 8-year-old rescued Staffordshire Terrier, Hobbes. When Callie was about nine (9) - months old and Hobbes one year, we enrolled them in a 2-week, in-kennel training program in Frederick, CO. They learned the basic commands, e.g., sit, stay, come, etc., but the facility didn’t address Callie’s aggression towards other dogs despite our repeated requests that they do so. We searched for other trainers in our area, including obedience classes and 2 “dog behaviorists” recommended by our veterinarian. All of them failed at everything except emptying our wallets. I did extensive research, decided to contact Ultimate Canine in Westfield, IN, and scheduled a boarding suitability evaluation for both dogs. Hobbes passed, but Callie flunked miserably. She is good with people, including our two-and four-year old grandchildren, so I held out hope that the right trainer could at least get her to where she could be boarded and my wife and I could go on some much-needed vacations. Enter our savior, trainer Joe Cruz. Over the next 8 months, Joe conducted training sessions in our home on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Honestly, my wife and I were more in need of training than the dogs, especially in understanding dog behavior and how to firmly and calmly “persuade” them to follow commands. The results have been beyond anything we could have ever imagined. Callie and I returned to Ultimate Canine a month ago for a boarding re-evaluation, and she ACED it! She improved so much that Joe and his colleagues cleared her for all services they offer including boarding, doggy day care and grooming. We went from wondering if she’d ever become the sweet dog she is now to taking our first vacation in about four years and having no issues! Today, I took Callie to the veterinarian for her annual checkup and vaccinations. Previously, she exhibited the aggression we’d come to expect, but she did great! In fact, the vet said she’s a completely new dog and complimented Barb, me and Ultimate Canine on the improvement. Barb and I can’t adequately express our gratitude to Joe Cruz and Ultimate Canine. Joe gave us the hope we never had, and Ultimate Canine is the absolute best canine training and boarding facility we’ve ever used!
