How do I stop my dog from acting unruly so I can at least get the leash on her. She won't sit and wait , she just jumps around and acts wild. I don't know how to correct her without a leash in her .
Try a treat... But I'd call the Academy and get a trainer to come and visit your at home.

My gsd puppy is 5 months and he has gone upstairs but will not go down them. This has been one of many obstacles im faced with on a daily basis. He is also biting Hard on my arms, legs, and bruises me. Is this fear anxiety?
I want to also say I have had someone come to the house who was a professional trainer,but she couldn't get him to go down. She suggested stair treads but i got them right away and now its three weeks later, still im stuck carrying him back down. He is heavy and im doing all i can to get him to walk down! HE IS A SMART DOG! His puppy biting doesnt seem innocent anymore its also getting way to hard for me to endure! I called last night but the office was closed. I am in tears because ive tried all other techniques out there and i am so patient and loving with my puppy,not to mention all the money put into my puppy to give him the best but i don't know what im doing wrong. He is arfraid to even go in a car for rides with me! Any help is appreciated! I love my dog and am desperate to get help!

Thomas, thank you for videos and they're really helping me train my 4 month old lab. Question: the Pat Nolan book from Dogtra has all behavior taught first with collar only then the voice command is added. You say connect collar to your voice. Help!

Two years ago we adopted a small German Shepherd rescue from Oklahoma. She was malnourished, had a broken knee and no social skills. So after her surgery we signed up Jade with Upstate Canine and were so lucky to get Kyle Gelsomini as her trainer. Kyle worked not only to train Jade but to teach my husband what he needed to know. Her training included teaching her to walk on a leash, meet other dogs and obey commands. We had a break in Jade's training because of personal medical issues but I am now going to start training with Jade. I would so recommend Upstate and if you get Kyle you will have the best (though I bet eveyone there is just as special). Everyone at Upstate is truly looking for the best outcome for every dog.
We have been working with Kyle for five private training sessions and we have had a great experience. He takes the time to analyze our dog’s behavior and teach us to be better handlers. He also does a great job explaining the why behind what we are doing. We couldn’t ask for a better experience! Highly recommend

We have been training with Kyle and the upstate canine team for about 2.5 months now. Our puppy was once reactive, anxious, & unable to control himself in any social setting. He was very fearful when walking & hard a very hard time showing any neutrality when on a walk and passing by a car, biker, dog, and even other people. We did puppy training initially, then per our vets recommendation we consulted with a private trainer. We felt things were not progressing & after talking with multiple other trainers and friends we were highly recommended to go to upstate canine for behavior modification training. Kyle has been great and has answered any and all questions we have had. Abe loves being there and it’s amazing to see what he has learned in such a short amount of time. We completed our second group class tonight & we are so impressed with how well they are handled and tailored to each dog in the class. Our puppy is now neutral toward other dogs, walks so well on his leash (with confidence) and can pass by people without any reactivity. We thank Kyle especially but also his team for helping us out! We cannot wait to continue with future classes!

Leaving your puppy for a five-week board and train program can be scary, but the team at Upstate Canine made the entire process so reassuring and supportive—for both us and our dog. From the first day to the last, their communication, care, and professionalism were top-notch. We specifically want to shoutout Kyle for he was our dog Benny’s main trainer. He really took the time to understand us as owners, but Benny as the dog he is. Our dog really bonded with Kyle from the moment we dropped him off and still to this day when we make our trips to visit he gets beyond excited as do we, to work with an awesome human who cares deeply for what he does. We are so thankful for him! They truly became family to us. The love, patience, and knowledge they shared not only transformed our dog but also taught us so much as owners. Their transparency and continued support even after we brought our dog home have been incredible. We still go back for training sessions, and every time, we’re reminded how passionate and knowledgeable they are. The service wasn’t just great for us—it was outstanding for our dog.
