We recently rescued a sweet 2.5 year old Doberman, who has some anxiety issues, lack of obedience training, and not 100% housebroken. Our last two Dobermans we brought to Urban Dawgs, one as an adult with on leash problems and the second one as a puppy, and we were extremely happy with the results. After a few weeks with our new rescue, we knew we needed help and contacted Drayton. As with our first two dogs, it’s really more about training the owners than the dogs. Once you step out of your limited knowledge bubble (us!) and listen to the behavioral science behind the issues and solutions (Drayton!), that’s when you feel confident that you can help your dog. Drayton is a wealth of knowledge for every dog issue we encountered so far. And yes, training with abundance of treats works sooooo much better than punishment based training, which we regretfully used with our first dog while working with another trainer before we found Drayton. Drayton’s love and care of dogs is easy to see. I can reach out to him after a lesson with questions or clarifications about what we should be doing, and he responds with so much helpful information specific to our dog’s needs. It feels like Drayton’s mission in life is to train owners to raise happy dogs, which in turn makes for happy owners. Thanks to Drayton, we were happy owners with our last two happy dogs, and we are on our way to making our new dog happy and be happy owners once again!
