Urban Tails

We were looking for a training “class” for our two pups when we came across Urban Tails and their full day programs. It wasn’t what we had in mind but we were open to anything and so glad we gave them a try! We had 2 pittie puppies and had our hands full! I knew we needed help and it was exactly what we needed!! At UT, Julia and Sarah (awesomest mother/daughter duo ever) not only work with your dog, but also with you AND your family to teach you how to work with your dog at home. Benz & Shelby have been going for 3 months now and they have come such a long way in that short time. They couldn’t be any more different and Julia & Sarah knew just how to work with both of their different personalities. They both have been well socialized and love playing with other dogs and I can even walk them both at the same time! Amazing! Thank you Sarah, Julia and Liz for taking care of my babies. And thank you for your help to make being their mama so much more enjoyable! 💗 Check out my before and after. 😂😂😂 (It’s exaggerated for fun but it feels like this is the difference).

I highly recommend Sara and Julia at Urban Tails. If I could give 100 stars, I would. UT provides much more than a typical “doggy daycare”/boarding or training facility. It’s more like your dog’s second home. Sara and Julia (and Liz!) welcome you and your dog right into the UT pack. They care for your dog like their own and are so skilled in working with dogs with varying needs - socialization, basic commands, or using behavior like running away, darting, biting, lunging, etc. to communicate. We adopted a 6 month-old mostly cattle dog/hound/husky mix, Jam, who was very shy and had become fearful. We weren’t sure of how to best meet her needs so we looked for a place that could provide her with socialization a few days a week and could help us help her. Within a month at Urban Tails, she was already a different dog! Sara and Julia (shout out to Julia especially!) help her with confidence building and other training during school and then teach us how to do the same at home. Even though we have experience with formal puppy training, we’ve learned so much more from Sara and Julia - like having realistic expectations, understanding how dogs think/respond, and how to use movement as motivation. Jam went from being scared of literally everything that moved to being able to live a more active, less stressed life both in and out of the house. It’s now been almost 5 months since Jam started at UT and she continues to become more sure of herself and confident in her surroundings. We even just recently passed our Novice Trick Dog test!! Yes, a dog who once was scared of the wind blowing too hard or peed when a car drove by is now walking across balance beams, jumping through hoops, and running through tunnels. We’ve also used UT multiple times for boarding and Jam always comes back happy after her sleepovers. We wouldn’t trust leaving her with anyone else and we’re so thankful we found UT!
