Valor K9 Academy

I would like to express my gratitude for the exceptional training you provided our dog, Theo. Before starting with Valor, our 7 month old Poodle/Australian Shepherd shelter pup was timid, nervous and reactive. Since his 3-week board and stay program with trainer Taya, he has become a much more confident, calm and well mannered dog. Thank you Taya for your effective training techniques, professionalism and know-how. Your training has made a positive impact on his behavior and we look forward to a lifetime of enjoyable walks without pulling!

Taya trained our Poppy, a hyper and excited 11-month old chocolate lab. Poppy now knows how to run alongside us on bike rides, run on the treadmill, come back when called in high distraction situations, and—biggest of all—listen and focus. We have many ways to help her get her energy out now. She understands house and people manners better. She’s a sweetheart, but we just needed to be able to work with her better so she could thrive, and Taya did that for us. Taya was also very flexible and easy to work with. She’s a lovely person and a great trainer. We’re very grateful for her work with Poppy.

We had the privilege of working with Samantha for our 6 month old German Shepherd Dog's month long Good Dog Advanced Board and Train. I have nothing but positive things to say about the entire experience. Having worked with another company for my previous dog's training, I can say that Valor K9 is far superior- not only in the actual training, but in communication and professionalism as well. I appreciated both Amy and Samatha taking the time to answer my questions during my process of interviewing training facilities. I felt that my concerns were heard and properly put at ease. Samantha was great at sharing what Stetson was learning while he was in her care- this was done through texts, photos, videos, and voice memos. I appreciated her transparency with Stetson's progress, as well as what he was still needing more work on. I was incredibly grateful for having Stetson with someone that seems to truly love what they do! The go-home weekend was incredible. We live out of state, so we spent several hours over a two day period learning how to apply what had been taught to our dog during his training. Samantha is an amazing teacher- her insight on dog behavior, body language, and training was enlightening. Her patience as we navigated new commands, experiences, and situations was greatly appreciated. We cannot recommend Valor K9 enough- especially Samantha!

We have been wanting to get a service dog for our son with special needs. Luckily we found K9 Valor and specifically Taya to train our lab puppy, Cali. What a difference 3 weeks of boarding has made! Cali, while still a puppy with puppy behaviors, now knows simple commands and is on her way to being the helper we need for our son. Because of Taya’s background, and having her own service dogs, she is attuned to our needs and is able to help us every step of the way. She’s super knowledgeable and texted us updates and video so we could follow along Cali’s progress. Thank you Taya!
