Such a great trainer! He helped our dog Musk with his separation anxiety and to stop him from barking at everyone that passes by in our apartment building. He really saved us on a huge headache of dealing with disgruntled neighbors and a strict HOA. Whenever I'm in public with him I get complimented on how well he is behaved and I always reccomend people to Very Good Dog Training. Truly made me a more confident and relaxed handler.

If you need help with your dog, hire Stephen! Before training my dog: pulled on the leash during every walk, chased the cats around the house 50 times a day, barked at every little noise in or outside of the house, lunged/barked at people and dogs on the street, and really just did not listen to me! I leaned on her emotionally and spoiled her and she lost any semblance of structure and it showed through her anxiety and disobedience. After training: she listens to my commands (i.e. Here, sit, down, place, heel), she walks BESIDE me when we go out for walks instead of pulling ahead, she stopped chasing the cats around the house, she is relatively calm around strange people/dogs on the street or a new person entering the house -- she no longer barks endlessly and jumps on the person, but rather calmly greets them. Thanks to Stephen I can feel relief in my own life, as it becomes easier not having to deal with the behaviors such as pulling, barking, lunging... but I also get to feel comfort in knowing that more structure for my dog means she can feel comfort as well, and reduce her anxiety and put her trust in me. I had heard about Stephen through my fiancée’s friend. I was initially hesitant because we had been to so many trainers and already spent so much money with very little to show for it. I thought that our dog Maya was resigned to stay in her current pattern of behavior and really had very little hope that we could make any serious changes. But, after reading all of his reviews and seeing that he did not have a single review under five stars (which is unusual for a dog trainer) I agreed to meet with him to have him evaluate Maya. He immediately put us at ease, with other trainers we really felt as if we were to blame and that every mistake we made compounded her issues. But he took the time to explain her behavior and reassured us that we could work together to establish better patterns of behavior which would reduce our own anxiety when handling her in the midst of a reaction. After our meeting I was sold, it was tough sending her to board and train for a month knowing she was an escape artist, but, after watching all of his social media posts it was clear that he had this innate ability to control situations and we knew that our Maya would be in good hands. I can’t not recommend Stephen enough, the experience exceed our expectations for not only the knowledge that Maya gained but from the skills Stephen was able to teach us!
