My wife and I purchased a male Dutch Shepherd puppy from Von Falconer one year ago. We visited the puppies when they were six weeks old and returned at 8 weeks to take one home. Bryan recommended a black colored male which we named Watson. Watson is absolutely the best dog anyone could want. He is healthy, affectionate, loyal, incredibly intelligent and just plain fun. Bryan is a wealth of information and has always been available to answer our questions and provide great advice. If you are looking for a really great dog, I highly recommend Von Falconer Kennels and their Dutch Shepherds.

We have two beautiful German Shepherds from Von Falconer, and we couldn't be happier! Bryan and Francisco are experts in breeding and training, and we rely on them to keep our pups in top shape. Our vet has told us our dogs have excellent muscle tone and dispositions. They are both confident and healthy. When we have to travel, we only leave them with Bryan and Francisco, and our dogs come home happy and better behaved than when we left them. We highly recommend Von Falconer for breeding, training and boarding.

1.0 star rating 3/12/2017 I purchased a Dutch Shepard from Bryan Falconer here several months ago. In addition to purchasing the dog, I paid an extra $2,000 for the 30-day training program they had. The dog and training is definitely not as described: 1 - The dog was very timid with people (not a confident working dog). 2 - The dog wasn't trained much at all, she knew the basic commands (sit, stay, and to heel on leash) however, because they did training/working on leash, whenever I would walk her, she would refuse to go potty on leash. I literally would walk her from 30 minutes to an hour and she wouldn't go, but the minute we got home and I took her off leash she would pee and poop in the house (another false claim stating she was potty trained) 3 - Another false advertisement to the list, was that the dog was crate trained. This dog was as far from crate trained as physically possible. She was horrified about going into the crate. Any dog with proper crate training actually enjoys going into their crate, as it's considered a sanctuary place for them. She would bark and cry for hours when put in the crate. She hated the crate so much to the point where she actually peed and pooped in the crate even though she had to sit in it for a couple hours. For a dog to go potty where she sleeps means that she really hated it in there and did not feel like it was her safe space. 4 - She was fearful towards men and the crate, which leads me to believe this dog was either neglected or abused. Either way, the behavioral traits of this dog at 6-7 months old were clearly from a broken home. I had to hire another trainer to get her to unlearn all her bad habits, which is much harder to do than training her properly from the start. The training (if you want to call it that) that I paid for was a complete scam. If anyone is looking for a house dog, be prepared that your dog will not be housebroken whatsoever. They don't even let the dogs in their house. They were all locked up in kennels or in crates. I made the mistake of not doing enough due diligence prior to making this purchase (that I would need to be committed to for the next 13 years). I expressed all of these concerns to Bryan Falconer, and I would be extremely lucky if he answered the phone or called me back. Not only did I get suckered in to spending so much money on this dog and training, but their customer service and satisfaction is non-existent. Overall, this was a traumatic, frustrating, and sad experience that I've had to deal with. I usually don't write reviews, and when I do they are very short. This is the first review I've actually spent time composing because I want anyone that's looking to purchase from this breeder to think twice. I highly discourage anyone from purchasing from here, but if you do happen to buy a puppy, whatever you do, do not spend the extra money on training because that's just another way for them to sucker you out of more money while the dog sits and does nothing. Ultimately, I couldn't even handle it. Fortunately, the trainer that I was working with to help her unlearn her bad habits agreed to adopt her and had the time to work with her. I then moved on to another puppy that came from a reputable breeder and had proper obedience training completed and my dog is perfect, which is what I was expecting originally from Von Falconer. I hope this sheds some light and helps some people prior to purchasing, so they don't get fooled and make the same mistake i did.
