Take time to do your research before signing up for dog training. We had a HORRIBLE experience with Vonbernd K9 Training Center in Brownsburg. DOG TRAINING: Regrettably, we signed up for a lifetime specialty training package and consistently attended weekly trainings for almost 1.5 years, yet our German Shepherd failed to perform. The owners, Jake and Shelby, continued to sell us on training packages citing our dog just needed more training. We paid for 2 additional board and trains on top of the traditional training package. We ended up paying for a fully trained dog with numerous behavioral and performance issues. Not to mention we got a 2nd professional opinion, and other medical animal professional opinions. BOARD/TRAIN: Additionally, we had concerns that Vonbernd was not adequately training our dog. Both of our dogs went through 2 board/train sessions lasting 6 weeks in total. 3 days after a 3 week boarding our dog still did not perform her job. Shelby's response was that our dog "might just have been tired". DOG PURCHASE: We were also planning to purchase our next dog through them since Jake and Shelby claimed access to some of the top working dogs. However after 4 months, Jake and Shelby still had not provided even a prospect female German Shepherd for adoption. We do DO NOT recommend taking your dog to this facility. We had recommended them to our neighbor and they also had a TERRIBLE experience. Dog owners be cautious!
Haven't started yet. Jake seems knowledgeable and friendly. Answered my questions. Setting up an evaluation for next week. Looking forward to getting started. Have started a few moving forward. Happy with the progress so far. Great Pyrennes not the easiest to work with but we will get there. Excellent training aids
