FirstBarkMaria is amazing! She began working with Lottie, my Golden Retriever puppy, at 12 weeks old. She has helped us teach Lottie many basic commands and how to walk on a leash. Maria is very patient with puppy and owner! I highly recommend working with her.

I am a Certified Dog Trainer and Fear Free Certified Professional. My passion is supporting clients with their training goals. It’s simple, I want to help others enjoy their dogs as much as I enjoy mine. I first got the dog training bug in 2001 with my puppy Echo. We started obedience training with a highly recommended trainer who used aversive techniques. Training this way was never comfortable for me, and I’m sure Echo didn’t enjoy it either.

Fast forward to now—walking Blue is a breeze, even for my wife, who is in her third trimester of pregnancy. While Blue’s jumping habits haven’t completely disappeared, they’re now very manageable and continue to improve as we stick to the techniques we were taught. That brings me to one of the best parts of Wags on Tails’ training program: it wasn’t just about training our dog—it was about training us as owners. We started a few months ago, and although Blue has made great progress, what really made the program successful was how Maria equipped us to reinforce and build on what she taught Blue. I’d 100% recommend Wags on Tails to anyone who needs help training their pup!
