September 19th 2019 Award winning dog trainer Ray Godwin began training our 6 month old Golden Retriever at his training facility in Holly Hill, SC. This gun dog school is worthy of it’s high rating. Our Miss Reba was there four months and I just brought her home for the fall hunting season. While there, she learned to be obedient and to “Sit ,Stay, and Heel”. He trained her on LIVE birds and introduced her to a shotgun report. She learned how to “Mark” downed birds and retrieve them from the water and around obstacles on his training ground. He taught ME how to properly use an “E” collar by Garmin and we had training sessions every two weeks while she was in school. I would definitely recommend Ray. I didnt train a dog here but was riding through holly hill and saw the vehicle transporting dogs around 9pm. It was dark and very stormy. My girlfriend pointed out to me the trailer the truck pulled was a bunch of kennels. These dogs were getting soaked on their ride basically. It's one long bed full of cages and all of these full grown dogs are cramped into these tight spaces. I get having a training service but have some decency and care for the animals. Many of the dogs looked mangy as if they had been attacked by other animals or people. The back of the trailer looked like something out of a horror film. Just on looks this doesnt seem like the type of company to go to for training.

In response to dragntoys review: While I can see how frighten you may have been because you ventured out from your safe zone of dragons, fairies, and other make believe whatnots on a dark and stormy evening in the not so well lit small town of Holly Hill, us clients of Webfoot Retrievers and owners of these pure bred dogs do not appreciate you referring to our beloved animals as mangy! Some of our dogs cost well over what you would expect. With that being said the monetary value of our dogs is not what’s important, but safety and well being of our pets is first and foremost. The trailer you saw is specifically designed to transport full grown, large breed dogs safely, comfortably, and efficiently to and from training facilities, competitions, managed hunts, and other outdoor sporting activities. It is designed to allow air flow and ventilation but also has a solid top and bottom to keep them safe from the elements. Did I mention safely! The force of a collision will send any loose objects in a vehicle flying, including unrestrained pups. This is dangerous not only for the dog, but also for any other people in the vehicle who might be struck by a canine cannon-ball careening through the vehicle. If unrestrained, a 10-pound dog will exert about 500 pounds of force in a collision at 30 MPH. An 80-pound dog will exert around 2,400 pounds of force under the same conditions. I am quite unsure how you could see inside the trailer on such a treacherous evening to make a specific analysis on these animals and I also do not understand how the back end of a trailer could be something of a nightmare. Please do not go into writing horror films as I feel you may fall short and it will be quite dull. These dogs are doing what they love and were bred to do and what has been in their lineage for many many years. Perhaps in the future, you will not be so quick to pass judgment on something or someone so quickly without being educated first. Ray Godwin at Webfoot Retrievers is an exceptional and talented trainer. He is knowledgable and passionate about making sure dog and owner work together. Not only is he training my German Wirehaired Pointer to be an amazing hunter, he is also training her on basic obedience. It has been a pleasure working with Ray and I couldn’t be happier with the progress he has made with my dog. I would definitely recommend him to any potential client.

I have owned and trained 2 Boykins and 3 Labs through a great book, Water Dog. All good dogs, but I decided this go around I would have my female lab pup trained by a professional. Took her at 6 months of age to Ray Godwin based on reviews I read about him on google. I asked for obedience and retriever training. Work and the holidays kept me from going to his weekend training sessions. I finally made it to one and was happy to see her, but was amazed that in 2 plus MONTHS she had not been trained to heal or stay. That is basics or crawl before you walk training for dogs. I was so aggravated that I left and returned to pick her up the following Monday. I had already paid him in advance for the month. I kindly asked to be refunded for my advance payment for this month and he refused. In just a few minutes a day for a week I had her obedience training down. I’m convinced all he did was feed her and charge me $575/month. Buyers beware.
