We were looking for a Dog Trainer in the 90066 zip. Someone who would come to our house and offer “ One on One “ training for our dog Spooky. After speaking to Gordon of Websters Dog Training, we knew he was the trainer for us. Our dog was in charge of us and we needed our home and lives returned to normal. Gordon laid out the content of the training and our involvement in it. One thing we weren’t expecting was Crate Training. What a difference that made. That alone was almost a game changer for our dogs behavior. Gordon emphasized holding our dog accountable for his behavior. We taught him Wait, Stay, Leave It and Come. We practiced until he was perfect at those. We were focusing on “ Impulse Control “ and he now has that mastered. We’ve enjoyed this process immensely and our new understanding of what a responsible dog owner should be. We also learnt to be more patient with our dog and understand his needs on a daily basis. Our 5 month old rambunctious Labrador Blue was a handful for our young busy family. At a local park I happened to talk with a dog owner and commented on how well trained his dog was – he gave me Gordon’s details and upon my first call with Gordon I knew we had found a very genuine trainer who wanted to help us. Gordon is incredibly knowledgeable about animal behavior and he applies this to his teachings that are tried and proven over his own experiences and his family’s generational association with dogs. You are getting an enormous resource when you take on Gordon and Websters Dog Training services, what struck us about Gordon is how friendly and again how genuine he is, he wants you to succeed and this is evident right from the start. The rapport he achieved with our Dog in just that first meeting was incredible. Many people end up overwhelmed by having a dog in LA, Gordon provides an initial 12 lesson program to achieve basic command obedience and most importantly he teaches you how to have fun with your Dog. Gordon encourages you to video his lessons with you, to send him videos of your own trainings and also provides documented instructions that you can refer back to for each learning step. This is an enormous help. Our dog Blue is now doing great because we have been educated as to how we can best look after him and help his appetite to learn, as Gordon will say ‘Train the owner and you’ll have a great Dog’! If you’re looking for a dog trainer I highly recommend Webster’s Dog Training! Gordon is extremely knowledgeable and patient and our 5 month old puppy Shadow absolutely LOVES working with him. His training plans are great for any kind of dog - he’s been teaching us everything from fundamentals such getting our dog to focus on us, recall, impulse control, calming down when visitors come, going in her crate, to really fun mental stimulation exercises like scentwork! He gives us super clear instructions and notes that we can use on our own every day. Shadow has already come such a long way since we’ve been working with Gordon, and she’s a very high energy breed (Belgian Malinois mix). He has really great experience working with high drive dogs. Our rescue bulldog puppy was a challenge, over enthusiastic and neurotic. Scared of her leash, scared of doorways, scared of brooms. Gordon Webster’s practical training methods have been a revelation. While still nervous at times our big puppy is now calmer and obedient. She lies down on command, comes to a whistle, Most training has been done on a rewards/treat basis, but Gordon’s endless practical advice, and firm handling have been crucial to our pups transformation.
