Well Balanced Dog Training

We went to well balanced dog roughly a year ago and in complete transparency it was not the place for our dog. I feel like our original issues were not addressed and tools were quick to be slapped on our dog. I paid for an hour long session of him practicing the place method which didn’t help a long term goal of addressing his reactivity. We left after a few months of us not seeing progress and I was noticing just how uncomfortable my dog was as the owner did not form a connection with him. I’m all for the tools to help him especially the prong since he’s a bigger dog but after each training session I noticed red marks along with spots where the prong was being dug incredibly far into his neck. I know I should have taken pictures but I thought I need to trust Meghan. That was genuinely my final point where I decided this wasn’t the place for us. We switched to another trainer who has immediately addressed the the concerns we had and instantly formed a bond with our dog and our dog is now making immense progress. To the point where he isn’t being reactive to dogs. I was able to form an incredible connection with my dog which we didn’t have before. This pushed us to where we needed to be. Almost all the reasons we visited well balanced dogs have been addressed by another trainer who not only communicates well with my entire family but also spends more time with our dog understanding his behavior. I do not think our dog received the proper attention and I truly believe the problems we came in with only got worse due to pushing him well pass his threshold before he was ready. I made the choice to suddenly stop going and no one reached out to follow up which is something that still does not sit right with me and honestly tells me everything we need to know. That being said I do not believe well balanced dog was the correct training facility for us and I would not recommend it to anyone else.

Absolutely fantastic staff. Safety is their number one priority. After getting a rescue, Meaghen trained him from day one and he is the most loyal, well behaved dog I have ever met. Yes, I may be biased, but every single person who encounters Charlie comments on how well he listens to commands, and how gentle he is with my children. Truly a dream dog. I appreciate the honest feedback on my training and homework with him, which tends to be maintaining my role as leader, and not transferring my emotions onto my dog. Meaghen is always there to help no matter how long it has been since my last training session. If you follow WBDT’s program, reinforce what Meaghen teaches you and your dog often, I assure you that you will see amazing results. I trust my children around dogs Meaghen has trained, they love seeing her, their future job aspirations include dog training because of her and truly look up to her as a role model.
