West Chester Dog Training

Joe has been wonderful with our 2 year old pit mix. Remy is our rescue baby and was terrible at pulling on the leash when we walked him. He also jumped up on people to greet them and for a year and a half we tried to break these habits on our own. After one session with Joe, Remy was walking with us without pulling and making huge strides at not jumping up on people. We would highly recommend Joe. He has such a beautiful way with dogs.

We got our 3mo old German Shepherd Puppy 2 weeks ago. We spent tons of time researching training techniques from dominance/submissive style (e.g. - Caesar Milan) to solely positive reinforcement (e.g.- Zak George on YouTube). Over two weeks, we tried to apply a blended approach of what we had learned. While the puppy was learning various commands very well, she started to develop bad habits of leash pulling, howling, nipping at our small children, biting furniture, etc. It made things very stressful in the house and we were not entirely sure of what we were doing wrong. We hired Joe and were very pleased with how he taught us how to manage our puppy's energy and train her after the first session. Although I understood and had watched many of the principles he taught us through various YouTubers, having that in-person experience (your pup, your home, your environment, etc.) is invaluable. For one, sometimes there are subtleties of training that you can't pick up from YouTube. Although they are subtleties, not addressing them could have big negative impacts on training. Joe helped to answer all the questions we had. Secondly, it was good to have an experienced person tell us what we were doing right and wrong so that we were not creating potential long term issues. My stress level of how to manage this puppy was helped immensely after the first session and she took to the training really well. We are very excited to complete the next two sessions in the coming months.
