Wheatland Dog Center in Derby, KS is a small, specialized dog training and boarding facility on a 20 acre farm that focuses on sending your dog home happier and healthier than when they arrived. The Dream Dog Program is customized for each dog to build a foundation of obedience and address unwanted behaviors. Our Puppy Raising program helps new puppies start on the path to becoming well-behaved, happy dogs, with two or more weeks of being raised and trained in our home. Daily activities and individualized attention from our experienced professional trainer ensures dogs have their emotional and physical needs met with low stress and anxiety levels. I found Kayla after many hours of searching for a board and train option for my 4 year old rescue pittbull mix. My dog was not properly socialized as a puppy and is very fearful of many things and is reactive because of it. I wanted to find a person that would help her overcome these issues and become the dog I know she can be and Kayla was that person. She got back to me quickly and set up a time for me to check out her facility. I immediately knew this would be a good fit for my dog. Kayla was understanding of my goals and my dog came back a completely new dog. During the month my dog was in the care of Kayla, she sent me videos, pictures, and updates. We have followed up with additional training post the board and train. Words can’t not express what a great experience this training was for my dog. If you are looking at getting some training done with your dog, this is your sign to use Kayla at Wheatland Dog Center.

Kayla is one of the best to work with. We sent our 8wk old black lab and she kept us updated with videos and text every week. If I send another puppy to be trained it will be with non other but her.

We rescued a 10 month old puppy from the shelter that we fell in love with. It was obvious that this puppy was not socialized and wasn’t taught anything, along with fear and some behavior issues. Kayla helped us and took our girl in to train her and provided resources for us to help manage her to become the best family dog. We are so grateful! We now continue to use Kayla for boarding purposes when we go on vacation.

Kayla is EXCELLENT at what she does... training, breeding, boarding, you name it. She is very knowledgeable and has a way with dogs. We bought a puppy from her breeding program and she is turning out to be an amazing dog. I cant say enough good things about Kayla and all that she has to offer. Top notch!

We’ve been taking our dogs to Kayla for boarding for a few years now, and I have nothing but AMAZING things to say about Wheatland Dog Center. We had a horrible experience with a local vet boarding facility before we found Wheatland Dog Center. It was so hard to trust someone with out dogs after that. Kayla loves our dogs like her own, and sometimes I wonder if our dogs love her more than us lol. They don’t just sit in a cage with no interaction. Kayla will send pictures and videos of our dogs running and playing, and interacting with other dogs under her supervision. It’s also reassuring to know that Kayla is a certified dog trainer. 100/10 recommend Wheatland Dog Center!!
