About Wheatland Dog Center
Wheatland Dog Center in Derby, KS is a small, specialized dog training and boarding facility on a 20 acre farm that focuses on sending your dog home happier and healthier than when they arrived. The Dream Dog Program is customized for each dog to build a foundation of obedience and address unwanted behaviors. Our Puppy Raising program helps new puppies start on the path to becoming well-behaved, happy dogs, with two or more weeks of being raised and trained in our home. Daily activities and individualized attention from our experienced professional trainer ensures dogs have their emotional and physical needs met with low stress and anxiety levels. I cannot say enough positive things about Wheatland Dog Center and Kayla’s training method. We sent a Malinois mix puppy to her for public access training (with hopes of her being a service dog). In the short time that Kayla had the dog, the dog’s obedience training, public access socialization, and task training well surpassed our expectations. The puppy also looked well conditioned and well cared for when returned to us. We could see how much the puppy respected Kayla as a trainer and as a person, and that just made our hearts so full! We got frequent update videos, and we greatly appreciated how Kayla tailored her training methods to our puppy’s needs! We currently keep up the puppy’s and handler’s “continuing education” up with Kayla and any questions/needs that we encounter Kayla is willing to consult with us. We are sooo happy that we selected Kayla!

Kayla is an awesome breeder, trainer, and person. As a dog trainer myself I entrusted Kayla with providing me with an incredible Labrador to call my own, she did not disappoint. Would highly recommend!
