About Wheatland Dog Center
Wheatland Dog Center in Derby, KS is a small, specialized dog training and boarding facility on a 20 acre farm that focuses on sending your dog home happier and healthier than when they arrived. The Dream Dog Program is customized for each dog to build a foundation of obedience and address unwanted behaviors. Our Puppy Raising program helps new puppies start on the path to becoming well-behaved, happy dogs, with two or more weeks of being raised and trained in our home. Daily activities and individualized attention from our experienced professional trainer ensures dogs have their emotional and physical needs met with low stress and anxiety levels. The absolute best!!! Our 2 dogs spent a month with Kayla this summer and came back completely changed. Her programs are absolutely worth the money and she truly cares for every single dog that stays with her and her family. She sent regular updates as well as uploaded YouTube videos to let us know how our dogs were doing/progressing in their training. Kayla is extremely knowledgeable and has been super helpful with any follow up questions we had. I would highly recommend Kayla to anyone considering sending their dog to training.
Kayla was awesome! We bought a lab pup and the process was smooth and easy. She took care of everything, took the time to let us meet multiple puppies, and answered all our questions.

Kayla trained our dog Mia when she was a puppy and there was no question who we knew we could trust for boarding when planning to be out of town for 2 weeks straight. At the last minute before we left on our trip, Mia started her heat cycle and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to board her and would have to come up with another solution but Kayla eased my worries and took such extra and special care of her the entire time we were away. Taking extra caution on not allowing her to be around male dogs and kept her out of the kennels and in her own house. I was SO relieved and had no worries while on vacation. When we brought Mia back home, we swear she was sad to leave and be back at our boring house in comparison to how much fun she had at Kayla’s. I would recommend her services to any and everyone!!!
Our golden retriever pup stayed with them for a week. MJ was very well cared for. The communication and updates on how he was doing was wonderful. I would highly recommend Wheatland if you do not want have to worry about your pet while traveling ❤️
