White Dog Blue

We found out about white dog blue from a friend whose child had actually completed the course recently. Catherine was really high spoken of. However, I did not know what to expect. Me and my children ( two girls ) met with Catherine in her home as she got to know me and the twins, she asked them questions about themselves. She had little discussions with them and got to know them. We talked about our goals and what this program meant. We started classes within the next week and committed to eight weeks. Eight weeks commitment is really hard for my children. Most other sports or activities they want to quit halfway through. They say they are bored. That was surely not the case with white dog blue. They continued to love going every week, even if it was the class was outside in a little bit warmer weather. Within the first week or so the girls were given a binder tote bag, which was very nice quality and it would help them stay organized. They received a workbook about trainings, a chapter book, and a little dog that they adopted that you could scan on your phone that you could have (Prayer) request. Each week the girls had videos and test to do after their reading. They honestly did not mind doing these test, they actually did fairly well. They met up to four dogs that they truly began to care about. They could tell me details about each dog that katherine had shared with them. Each week Katherine worked on the goals that the girls originally set at the beginning of the program. We all began to see some changes in the children. One child learned how to control her voice when a little upset, she had to learn that a dog cannot respond to harsh sounds. My other daughter learned about what boundaries meant. That even dogs must have boundaries like walking on a leash or staying in a fence or being trained to stay close. At the end of these eight weeks, which Catherine was very good with schedules and meeting the parents’ need, Catherine set up a graduation service for all of the girls. She talked about what they had learned there and what she had seen in them. She gave them certificates as well as a gift which was was sweatshirt with the logo and canvas of their own dog. We had snacks and socialized with the other families. I cannot say enough good things about this Program and Mrs. Catherine!

The True Blue program and dog training programs are an absolute blessing! I am an occupational therapy graduate student who is looking to work with Catherine. She has been such an inspiration and is absolutely so knowledgeable in so many aspects of trauma, dogs, therapy, dog training, life skills, and so much more! I have had such the amazing pleasure of getting to know and work with Catherine and I can’t wait to do my research with her programs!!

Catherine is very knowledgeable with dog behaviors and training. She prepared us for the therapy dog certification process by going over the requirements and dog training skills needed. I really appreciate her attention to my dog and I, as a team. Catherine walked us through many different training techniques with distractions, place, wait, heel commands, and how to correctly reward our dogs. I'm excited to keep learning through White Dog Blue training!
