There aren’t any words in the English language that can accurately describe how outstanding the staff at White Mountain College for Pets are and have been. I have done private 1:1 dog training and obedience classes through the local recreation department in the past, but the breeder I ended up getting my puppy from had puppy training on the application process and required that the puppies were enrolled in a program- I had heard of White Mountain College for Pets before so I submitted an inquiry for their rolling puppy training program. I believe it was a Saturday evening- after 8pm. Vickie responded IMMEDIATELY with all of the information and guided an anxious puppy Mom through the entire process. I knew training was important, but expected something similar to the past training sessions I had gone through and was expecting the same type of baseline training. From day 1, we were welcomed into a whole new world of training- not the sit/heel/stay type of training focus that is not exactly easy for 8-12 week puppies, but socialization, environmental awareness, and basic commands. Sue was a phenomenal teacher and each class ended with a super fun puppy play time in one of their gated play areas to socialize and run and play. This quickly became the most fun part of training for my puppy! She was so excited to go to training and I was excited, too- she learned so much and became incredibly adaptable to different scenarios in the world after a few weeks of puppy class. I had read about Doggy Day Camp on their website and reached out to Vickie for more information as my pup really loved playing with the other puppies. Of course, Vickie responded immediately with all of the information and mentioned that they have to be 4 months old, so let’s plan to enroll her after her Foundations training class. When dropping her off for a bath/nail trim (included in the training package!), Vickie mentioned that my pup was about to be 4 months old and could join camp as early as the end of this month. I was so excited and signed her up immediately for 2 days each week after her evaluation. She knew my puppy’s age when I was still counting in weeks! My pup is my child- spoiled rotten (as all dogs should be) and I worry about her constantly if I’m not around her- is she happy? Is she eating? Is she anxious? ALL worries flew right out the window when we pulled down the driveway to WMCFP when my pup started bouncing around in excitement to just be there. She absolutely loves it there! If she could jump out of the car to get to camp faster, she would. The amazing staff greets her as if she is their own, and she doesn’t even look back at me to say “Bye Mom”- she’s just so excited to be at her “home away from home.” To me, the nervous dog Mom, it’s the best feeling in the world that she loves being at WMCFP as much as the staff wants her there. We are so lucky to have such an amazing place where each dog is adored and doted on like they would be at their primary home. She comes home happy and exhausted from her busy day at camp. One of the staff said that she cuddled with my pup during her rest time to get her puppy fill! White Mountain College for Pets is the most amazing place- I couldn’t recommend them enough and I have zero hesitation in boarding her there when the need arises- this is coming from someone who hasn’t boarded a dog in over 25 years… I have always hired a dog sitter to stay at the house to ensure my dog’s comfort. From now on, she will go to her “home away from home.” Thank you, WMCFP- you are the gold(en) standard for pet services and we are so grateful to have you!
