Wild Child Dog Training

Wild Child Dog Training is the only place I recommend if you live in eastern North Carolina. Sydney and her trainers have years of experience. They're eager to share that knowledge and really want owners and their dogs to learn while developing a closer bond so they can succeed. I wanted to learn how to teach good manners to my Lab, Shaka, while also fostering a closer relationship with her. We worked with Sydney and I was blown away with her knowledge and expertise. Her explanations and demonstrations for each session were succinct yet thorough. There was plenty of time to practice and her feedback was always positive and encouraging. I learned how to develop a stronger relationship with Shaka while teaching her good manners. Sydney gave me the confidence to continue to train her on my own. Recently, we used her board and train service. Shaka had a great time! It was an excellent refresher for Shaka and myself. Wild Child Dog Training provided me (a dog owner of 40+ years) with new tools and training approaches maximizing my effectiveness an owner/handle allowing me to connect with two of my Labrador Retrievers that were struggling with confidence and self regulation. I was simply tired of the typical “leash tugging war” that inevitably occurred during daily dog walks and “K9-over excitement” observed in new environments. I needed new tools to learn about my dog’s personalities and how to build confidence. Maleiyah, one of the trainers, evaluated each of my two Retrievers and was “spot” on identifying their challenge areas and immediately rolled out an action plan with great success. Hank, my 2.5 yr old male Lab was in the program actively for 11 weeks and what a difference! Hank is confident and can now self regulate and relax to all kinds of new environments. This transition has started and now I know what makes him “tick” and how to help him be a healthy, happier dog. Clover, our 6 month Lab puppy went through 4 weeks of active training, has a firm foundation of active play, self regulation, inquisitiveness and a confident personality. Wild Child wants You and your Dog(s) to succeed! This principle was evident with every lesson. Their training facilities will allow your Dog to thrive and find happiness as they learn to be happier, confident and relaxed. It’s a utopia where dogs can be dogs - the way it’s intended to be. I found all the online videos and training materials extremely useful and the staff at Wild Child (Sydney, Kara, Maleiyah) were always there to answer my questions and help with tools to be a better owner/handler. Sydney, the owner and her staff are 100% dedicated to providing what your loved dog needs. I am not a trusting person by nature, especially with having my dogs handled by others but the staff at Wild Child were steadfast in the commitment in delivering results and helping all dogs in need of training and guidance. I trust them - they won me over immediately. The facility was always clean and safety of your Dog is priority one. The Wild Child Dog Training Programs are a worthy investment where your Dog can be the Dog he/she truly is inside - confident, happy with the ability to self regulate. I am grateful for their dedication and passion to help Dogs and their Owners.

Maleiyah was incredible with both Marli and me. From the start, she took the time to observe and understand Marli’s unique personality and needs, especially as a high energy, sometimes unpredictable Aussiedoodle. Her insights were spot on, and she equipped me with the tools and confidence I needed to continue training Marli effectively at home. I purchased the 4 class private lesson package, and we split our sessions between the training facility and a local dog park. Each session was tailored, practical, and engaging, not just for Marli, but for me as her owner. It was a fantastic investment, and we’re excited to keep learning and growing with Wild Child Dog Training!

Easy to communicate with. Worked really well with our Moxie. He was a puller and easily distracted. We then found out he was anxious and just unable to relax. Sydney worked it through and he is so much more in tuned to listen to us, with walking, obedience in public and chilling out. She ensured pet parents have key understandings on the how toos and implementation with what was taught during his Board and Train Program Results Based.
