Luke's journey from a fearful rescue to a more confident and happy dog is nothing short of a miracle, and it's all thanks to Walter and Hannah at Wolfman's Canines. Rescuing him from a puppy mill meant he had a rough first four months of his life. He was anxious and scared, but beneath that, I knew there was a sweet soul yearning for safety and love. I opted for their board and train program, where Walter worked his magic. His expertise and compassionate approach helped Luke overcome his deepest anxieties. The progress was not just visible; it was astonishing. Walter didn't just train Luke; he transformed him. Now, at a year old, Luke is a different dog. I continue to trust Wolfman's Canines for boarding whenever I travel, because Luke feels safe and loved there. It's more than just a training or boarding facility; it's a second home for Luke. We adopted Sushi Smiles mid-February and found and started the 2-week board and training program with Walter mid-March. The differences in behavior and basic training commands are night and day! Sushi is a reactive dog, he is not socialized and is uncertain in unfamiliar environments; taking him for walks or hanging out in the house was difficult since he was always on, always a 10 when it came to his arousal and reaction to stimuli. After the board and train, Sushi is much more keen to listen and follow directions, he’s learned to switch off and be calm and relaxed. Of course, Sushi is still reactive, but Walter has provided a vital foundation for obedience training with our boy and provides amazing training insights, advice, and resources for us to continue his training at home and every day life. Sushi still has a long road, training and socializing him, but since working with Walter, we feel more confident to work with and continue training to make our boy a well-rounded, happy dog. Wolfman’s Canines offers wonderful, ethical, and positive training programs and Sushi has enjoyed being apart of the pack, and getting to engage with other dogs in a positive and safe environment. Training is a life long commitment to our dog and we’re thankful for what Walter has established and provides for us as we continue our journey. I want to preface by saying I love training my dog, Sadie, so we’ve put a lot of work into her and always tried new things. I’ve tried everything to fix her reactivity since she was a puppy, and nothing worked. It got to the point where walks were nightmares and we would dread going. Enter Walter: I don’t know what magic potion he has but Sadie is a completely new dog since leaving his place. We can take her on walks past dogs and people and she is able to ignore them. She’s no longer pulling our shoulders out trying to chase birds, and her barking is almost nonexistent. Whenever she has a hiccup, she’s quick to respond to commands and redirect her attention towards us (this was almost impossible before Walter). Even my husband enjoys working with her now. I genuinely cannot thank Walter enough - he just has a way with dogs, and is so willing to work with owners to share his “magic potion”. If you’re considering a trainer for your dog, don’t hesitate to reach out to Walter. It will be one of the best things you do!
