WonderDogs Canine Training & Activity Center

I took my first puppy to Wonderdogs in April 2004 for Puppy Headstart. I continued with Terrible Teens, Obedience, Agility, Tricks, and Flyball. Almost 20 years later I am still taking my dogs to Wonderdogs. Two of my dogs compete in Nosework while my youngest has taken agility, puzzle, reactive rover, and leash walking. I highly recommend the classes and especially the philosophy of instruction.

We recently took our 7-month-old Dalmatian, Willow, to Wonder Dogs for training. This was the Terrible Teens class. We were not disappointed! Barb and Sally were both incredibly knowledgeable and patient with Willow. They took the time to understand her personality and learning style, and they gave us specific ideas on best methods to work with her. Willow made great progress in a short amount of time. She learned basic commands like sit, stay, down and come, and she even started to learn some more advanced commands like wait, leave it and drop it. They worked on loose leash walking, not jumping, impulse control and much more. We were also impressed by the positive reinforcement methods that Barb and Sally used. They never used any harsh or punitive methods, and they always made sure that Willow was having fun. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The trainers were excellent, the training was effective, and Willow had a great time. I would highly recommend Wonder Dogs to anyone who is looking for a positive reinforcement dog training program. The facility is large, was always clean and well organized. The class size was not to big so there was plenty of one on one if needed. The training was positive and fun. Willow never felt stressed or scared, and she always seemed to enjoy the training sessions The trainers were patient and supportive. They were always willing to answer questions and help troubleshoot any problems We saw real results in a short amount of time. Willow made great progress. We were even able to teach Willow a trick and at the last class show everyone what she had learned. I would definitely recommend Wonder Dogs to anyone who is looking for a positive reinforcement dog training program. Gus, the golden retriever trapped in a Rottweiler's body as Barb put it, is a 4 time graduate of Wonderdogs. He started with Puppy preschool all the way through Graduate school and added in a Let's Go class for good measure. Gus's zeal for life - and everyone he meets - means we still have work to do. He's only 10 months old. But the techniques I learned in the classes provide me with an excellent basis for Gus's continuing education away from school. And, Gus loves to do his "exercises" so he obvioulsy enjoyed it as well. Marci, Sally, Barb, and Dani are all amazing instructors. They're patient and always open to offering alternatives when a technique isn't being effective. Mary is a wonderful first face in the office. We'll definitely be coming back for Finishing School once Gus matures and calms down a little more and maybe even give agility or flyball a try. Thank you for all you do!
