Woof in the Woods' goal is to teach dogs, coach owners and achieve goals by providing high quality reward-based training programs to clients in the Western North Carolina. We promote products and services we utilize with our own personal dogs and recommend for clients.
We love to see owners have trust in their dog to take them on hikes, to local breweries and restaurants, travel with them and build a respectful relationship with their dog. This happens with basic foundational obedience skills and lots of practice and consistency.

I need to get a service dog certified. What do I need to do?
There is no official certification for a service dog. A service dog can be self trained or trained with the help of a professional dog trainer. Feel free to call us to discuss your training needs further and any questions about a "required" certification.

Kiera, our lab mix puppy, has just finished her Basic Obedience and Manners class at Woof in the Woods. The lessons were easy to follow and she picked up on them quickly. Chris was an excellent trainer and Rob an excellent helper. I will and have recommended this class and anything else they offer. I am so proud of her and can’t wait to continue her (and my....I need this as much, maybe more) education. At seven months old and 45 pounds, it’s nice to know I can take her places without worries. Not only have these classes helped build her confidence, but the Friday socials have given her the opportunity to play with other dogs during Covid-19. We really appreciate the precautions and distancing that the staff has put in place so our pets can have some fun. This is her after class and after Friday socializing...a tired puppy is a happy puppy

Amazing trainers and super helpful training feedback for us. Chris is highly recommended, Rob and all the staff are wonderful. We are currently in week 5 of the 7-week basic obedience class and our dog has become so much more polite, observant, and responsive to us. Great results.

I can not recommend Woof in the Woods enough. If you need training, boarding, socialization, advice or healthy food and treats this is your one stop shop! Rob transformed both my dogs life and my own. I am already thrilled with the work we’ve done, but am excited to continue on this learning journey with my favorite girl, Breezy! Best money we have ever spent!
