Working Dog Training Company

Short version: if you’re on the fence about reaching out to Working Dog Training Company for help, do not hesitate, they are great! Now the details: We took our 13month old GSD to working dog training company as we started to notice minor reactivity and confidence issues. She had a great start to obedience but lacked engagement and focus. We had goals to address the above but also to prepare her for adventures, including hiking, mountain biking, lake life, etc. but felt awkward asking for help from a trainer for such “minor” things. She spent 30 days with Lucas [and his great wife!] and came home far more confident, focused, and attentive. I’ve never had a dog reliable off leash, I was nervous, but we felt a ton of support in the confidence and conversations with her trainer. Including above and beyond demonstrations off site to a trail we frequent when we came to pick her up. Our pup genuinely enjoyed the “work” and Lucas sent very regular updates to help ease our anxiety of being away from our girl. It was fun to see what they were up to, and could genuinely see the positive experience Lucas created for her. Including a minor health scare she gave us for which the communication was immediate, clear, and attentive. It was clear they cared for her as if she was their own. I would not hesitate to recommend this team to anyone and am very grateful for their expertise, dedication, and positivity!

We brought our 11 month-old Malinois/Pyr/Anatolian Shepherd mix, Luanne, here for a month of training once she grew large enough to know she could physically overpower anyone in our family. Stubborn but intelligent, we've owned shepherds and livestock guardians like her in the past, but didn't have experience with them as pups. Luanne came back from camp a completely different and wonderful dog. She is so gentle and well-behaved, now, and it's a pleasure to walk her without being dragged. Kaylan and his team did such a good job with her. We, of course, had to be trained also on how to motivate and nurture those good behaviors so she doesn't slip into old habits, but special thanks to them. Best money well spent this past summer; we probably saved for the future by avoiding the destructive behaviors and expensive repairs of a stubborn and powerful chewer dog. Would highly recommend. A well-behaved dog is a joy.
