If you’re considering professional training for your dog, Xcaliber Dog Training is the go-to! My husband and I welcomed our baby in July and our Australian Shepherd was having a hard time adjusting. He’s a high energy dog who has a hard time managing his big feelings and who has no ‘off switch’, all gas no breaks. He was never mean or aggressive but just rude and overbearing when it came to invading baby’s personal space, which was a big safety concern for us. With a newborn we just didn’t have the time to teach him new expectations or the correct way to manage his feelings or frankly even where to start. The team at Xcaliber took him in for their three week training course and laid down the foundation for him and gave us the tools to help guide him on what we now expect from him. He’s such a good dog and you can see how he wants to do the right thing but just didn’t know how. Micheal took the lead in Moose’s training and he was so communicative on his progress and patient in our lessons with all the questions we had. Of course, most of the training lies with my husband and I to maintain the expectations and remind him that his old habits are no longer acceptable. Dallas came to them needing help with basic obedience, confidence, and even things that seem simple—like walking down stairs. Michael and Mitchell were patient, knowledgeable, and clearly understood how to work with her personality. Since training, she follows commands so much better, is noticeably more confident, and can finally walk down stairs without being scared or hesitant! What I appreciated most was that they didn’t just teach Dallas commands—they helped her become a more confident, sociable, well-adjusted dog. Seeing how much she has grown and improved has made us so happy, and the results have absolutely been worth it. Their continued support after we brought Dallas home has also been encouraging as we continue her training beyond her 3 week lesson.
