Bully breeds can be stubborn, and ours was no exception, he was loveable & friendly, maybe overly friendly & on top of that he’s big & enthusiastic. A client of mine saw that he was always eager to meet people, but he was very strong & would want to jump on people to greet them, run off on his own adventures & generally throw his weight around when he didn’t want to listen to our commands, so she recommended we call Mitchell. He came out to us to evaluate our situation & our goals, laid out a plan & was very clear about the approaches he would take, his fee structure & managing our expectations. We had a private training session mid way through the program & a final training session at his completion & the difference is INCREDIBLE! I went from a bossy bully with no sense of delayed gratification to a much more polite & calm, people-pleaser. I walked in eyes wide open with one of the most challenging dogs I’ve ever owned in my life & out with a new best friend. I love that Mitchell kept us in the loop with video updates on the regular & really discussed his approach to certain challenges with my family as they popped up & I feel like he set us up for success. Worth it!

I highly recommend Xcaliber dog training! Cola was rambunctious and barely had basic fundamental commands when Michael from Xcaliber came to pick her up. I sought them out because Cola would sneak out the front door and bolt. She had no recall whatsoever. She tried testing her luck and was a bit stubborn at first, but Michael had so much patience with her. She came back to me understanding and obeying 11 commands. She understands thresholds and my kids can safely take her on walks now. Michael sent updates and he brought Cola for an in-person progress check. Before he left, Michael made sure my family felt comfortable with applying everything he taught Cola before he left. Really pleasant experience and Michael was really great at explaining things so we felt comfortable. Though Cola was very happy to be home, I could tell she’s going to miss her new friends at Xcaliber - another indication she was in great hands! If you are on the fence about it, it was worth the investment!

Our dog King went thru the 3 week course. His outcome was absolutely amazing. He’s a 6 month old English Cocker Spaniel, a very high energy dog, and is still high energy which is expected with the breed, but his training has taught him obedience, well behaved, and a great companion! I highly recommend Xcaliber training, King had an amazing experience and was treated like he was a member of their family. One on One training is exceptional, please give them a call to learn about all the programs they have.

First of all, we apologize for writing and sending off this review so late. We had trouble with one of our dogs who can be aggressive and was jealous of one of our other dogs. It did get to a point where we were advised to put the aggressor down. We were fortunate to come across XCALIBER DOG TRAINING back in February 2026. We called, explained to Mitchell, the owner, about our problem and set up an appointment to meet with us in our home and to meet the dogs. Mitchell was very professional and gave us the details of the program answering every question we had honestly. Both dogs were then picked up on Feb. 18, 2026 and "boot camp" started. We were aware that Mitchell would report to us in 1 week whether the program would help or not. The dogs were there for 1 month and during that time Mitchell would send us pics or videos with texts to show us how they were doing. It was fascinating to see how quickly they learned to listen n follow commands. There was no appearance of cruelty to the dogs whatsoever. Of course the aggressor learned quicker than the other dog but he too came along very well. They spent 4 weeks with Mitchell and Mike, his partner, who both trained dogs in the military. Towards the end of the training they brought the dogs back home to teach us what they had taught and how to continue what was learned. It was uneasy at the beginning but both Mitchell and Mike had great patience with us. They both were very forthright about keeping up the training. When the dogs came home in March we had another teaching session with them which was much better because we had been reading over the commands that they laminate and give to you. Both Mitchell and Mike came back to the house x2 to see how things were going and what problems we were encountering. Mitchell texted all through the training and we also texted. Mitchell was always very prompt in getting back to us. We cannot believe the change in Cooper and since the training'end we have not had any difficult situations that we could not handle with the training we had. The XCALIBER team is great, very honest and upfront. They work hard with the dogs and love them n play with them. We were extremely pleased with XCALIBER DOG TRAINING!!
