Y2K9s Dog Sports Club

I have 2 mixed breed middle size dogs. I was concerned to begin with that my 2 pittie/lab mixes may not be very welcome, but that was not the case! We have taken classes for almost 5 years in Nosework (all with Alexa - trainer) and agility (Sally, Rosie, Diane & Katie - trainers), and Tricks (Sally-trainer). We were beginners in everything. I have nothing but good things to say about about all. Obviously different trainers have different styles which I really value as it helps perspective with your handling and your dogs responses. I highly recommend Y2K9 and it's trainers! Join and find your niche! Get involved! It is a lot of fun!

Hard pass. Spent 160$ on a beginner class (Control Unleashed) and made my intentions very clear that I was interested in that leading to an agility class in the future (just for fun and bonding, not competitive). After completing my class, I reached out via email to our trainer Alexa without response. I then contacted Diane, the evaluator I was originally in contact with. She directed me to reach out to Alexa again. I confirmed I had the right email and sent another message with yet again no reply. I sent Diane an email detailing all this, to which she replied that the training director would be in touch. I suspect it was a rushed email because there was a typo and her name was signed as “Dian” instead of Diane. I even mentioned being willing to take any necessary classes prior in case they didn’t feel my dog was ready for the agility class quite yet. My dog wasn’t a terror in the class…He was non-disruptive and learning quickly. I have really been racking my brain trying to figure out what I could have done wrong for them to clearly not care. When excitedly telling my coworkers about my dog’s upcoming class at Y2K9, my one coworker did mention they can be a bit snooty and that it’s all purebreds. I didn’t even give this a second thought because of how ridiculous that sounds…but here I am being ghosted by this dog training facility wishing I had spent my time, energy, and money elsewhere.
