Keith was very knowledgeable and helpful. Also he was very friendly and his explanations of our dog's behavior and what we needed to do going forward was spot on.
I can’t say enough good things about Zoom Room Dog Training in Springfield. The staff is incredible. As a husky owner, I never thought we could train our husky to complete agility obstacles, but this team made it happen. Thank you, Keith and Thalia, for making the experience so much fun. We truly enjoy attending our classes each week.
EDIT: ZR is really not great at handling when things DON’T go well. The response I received is really missing the point. Staff did NOT mention anything about needing to contact in advance of losing my credits to request an extension. You can say it until you are blue in the face now but a truly transparent business practice would be to say these limitations up front, not after someone asks for extension that they were told could be granted “if life happens”. Life happened: my dog got sick & contagious to do classes. Then I could not get into any classes. The app does not give you a notice when you are coming close to the end of your package cycle. On the phone, staff were short and rude. Better to support local businesses than this corporate offshoot. 1 star for this business model. Too long didn’t read: I got mixed messages about my access to the class credits I purchased. It is not realistic to pay an additional $500 to use the class credits I already spent $500 on and did not get to finish using. I found out about Zoom Room Springfield prior to the grand opening thanks to a social media post. I signed up for an orientation immediately and thought the classes and agility training would be great for my pup. I was encouraged to buy a 10-class package. I asked if I had to use the classes by a certain time and was told “Yeah, but we’re pretty flexible here. We know things happen, life happens, just let us know and we can extend your class credits.” I was happy to hear how understanding they would be and thought a class structure where you can pick and choose dates for your classes instead of being locked into a specific 6 or 8-week program was cool. Fast forward a few months and my pup needed surgery and then got sick. I held him out of classes so he could recover and then again because I didn’t want to get other dogs ill. Once he was better, I tried to sign up for classes but found most classes were full. No worries, I would be patient; the classes are small and seemed to be getting popular. When I finally found a class with a spot, I could not register. After poking around in my account, I found that my credits had expired. I called Zoom Room to ask if they could help extend my credits and before I could even explain what happened and contrary to what I had been told at sign-up, the staff member informed me they would not be extending my credits. When I reminded the staff member about what I had been told at sign up, I was told pretty callously that they are very booked and will not extend credits if you don’t let them know you’ll need an extension prior to the credits expiring. However, they can rollover the unused credits if I pay another $500 for another 10-class package. Okay… First of all, this logic suggests that actually they can extend my time to use the credits. Secondly, if the policy was always this nuanced, they should have been this direct at sign up instead of speaking to a flexibility that cannot actually be honored. To have to pay another $500 on top of the $500 I spent to get to use the credits I already paid for is ridiculous. It has not even been 30 days since my credits expired! Also, there are no shorter class packages — unless you opt for private training, the only class package options are either 10-classes or a YEAR. Even the information I was told on the phone contradicts the policy online which obviously contradicts the information I was told at sign up. So if a customer gets three different messages about the validity of a purchase, how is the customer supposed to plan accordingly? If I had known there was no flexibility in the time allotted for the credits purchased, I honestly would not have spent so much money on something that I may not get back if anything happens, especially now seeing how challenging it can be to even get into a class. I was really excited about having a Zoom Room close to me and it was a great way to bond with my pup. I even recommended Zoom Room to a lot of people. However, this situation has left such a sour taste and is such an unpleasant way to end services.
