Zoom Room Dog Training

So where to start. First of all, walking into Zoom Room you get an immediate feel the ownership and staff actually, and actively care about you and your companion. They greet you warmly, earnestly, and greet your dog or puppy just as, if not even more warmly. From the immediate moment of walking in you can relax and feel comfortable, as they lay out their facility in a way that makes sense. It's clean, it's open. And that's just from walking in. We were led into the main training area. We'll call it a "Gym" for the sake of ease. It was set up for agility already with a few of the obstacles set up. The owner sat down with us and my dog, (a 10 month old stubborn, smart, sweet puppy) and it felt as casual as having someone in your home that you'd known all your life. She asked us quite a few questions, such as: - What are your training goals? - What is your long time goal? - What is their attitude at home like? - Any problem with other animals or people? - Who is the primary caregiver? Normally those are pretty basic questions, but they led to a very thorough and thoughtful discussion. Within a few minutes my high energy puppy was already starting to calm down and feel comfortable, and we got a dose of the positive-reinforcement only philosophy they hold to. She took the time to let my puppy come to her, have her bouts of activity and show us how best to handle our puppy. This interview was more or less the start of the quick evaluation. She then let us walk the facility with our puppy so she could sniff and gain some familiarity with things, including the obstacles for agility which were still set up. After this quick walk about, the owner brought out a life-sized fake dog and walked toward my puppy as though it were real. She quickly evaluated my puppy's behavior around other dogs, assessing and being transparent the reason why was in order to ensure our puppy could be a good fit for group training classes. She passed with flying colors on that front. After this step to the evaluation, we sat with the owner, went over the various pricing plans, which have such an upside in value compared to other trainers in the area. They included plans that were either bought as packages (for instance, 4 training sessions, or 8 training sessions) and a subscription based plan, which renewed every four months. Again, some really, really good value there. I believe the subscription training plan which included 8 sessions was less than 200 dollars a month. These sessions could be used for any of their training programs--Agility, Obedience, Puppy Training, etc. So you didn't just buy say, 4 Obedience only sessions. Additionally, it was explained they do their training on a milestone basis, actually trying to make sure your companion has the skills necessary to move on as opposed to some other programs which just have you go the amount of sessions you paid for and then end it. Then for the Agility plan. So, we went in today (Jul 28), which was a week prior to their grand opening so they could accommodate my schedule as I am traveling next week. But they let us know they will be offering Intro to Agility courses for at least the first couple of weeks and maybe longer for just 5 dollars on the intro session. As well as their desire to build in agility leagues to compete with the other Zoom Room in Cary (and maybe even other groups beyond that, fingers crossed). After the evaluation, they spent as much time as possible talking to us about their program, sharing some diet and training tips, and sharing their own stories of their dogs. The staff is incredibly friendly. The facility is clean and spacious enough to accomplish their goals. They offer a myriad of training tools and toys, treats, and other items for your companion, and they care. We felt immensely respected and comfortable after this experience. The one thing the owner said which stuck out to me the most, and I honestly believe their philosophy is, "After the training is done, give me a call in 4 to 6 months. I want to hear that you can't live without your dog."
