We can't say enough amazing things about Above the Standard Dog Training! Our now 8mo mixed bully breed puppy completed their 4-week board and train program when he was just 5mo, and the transformation has been incredible. Before training, our pup struggled with serious resource guarding — not just with toys or food, but also guarding me and my space from other animals. His behavior was so intense that at just 4mo, he swallowed a 2"x6" stuffed toy to keep it away from another dog. We were overwhelmed and worried, but the Above the Standard team stepped in and truly worked wonders. Not only did they address these behaviors with compassion, structure, and professionalism, but they also trained us — helping us understand how to support him and manage challenging situations. Our pup came home more confident and balanced than we ever thought possible, and he's only continued to improve every day since. The team hasn’t stopped supporting us, either. Anytime we have a question or need advice, they’re just a call or message away and always eager to help. Their commitment to the long-term success of both dogs and their humans is unmatched. We are beyond grateful for the training and support we’ve received. Above the Standard has truly lived up to their name — and then some.

Above The Standard definitely lived up to their name! They helped our rescue, Ginger, who was reactive, timid, and lacking confidence. After 4 weeks of board and train, she is growing more confident and enjoying new places. Jim, our trainer is an excellent communicator of the tools and how to utilize them. His recap of Ginger's accomplishments and direction for how to advance forward was excellent and we are growing more confident in continuing his work. We can't say enough great things about Above Standard Dog Training! They exceeded our expectations in every way! We are first time puppy owners and needed help controlling Shadow. Shadow was abandoned by his mother at an early age so he was never taught puppy manners. Trainer Jim listened carefully to Shadows history and what our expectations were for Shadow and helped us develop a plan to reach our goals. We were concerned about boarding Shadow but he absolutely adores Jim and this tells me he received excellent care during his stay. We love the results! Shadow is a joy to be around now and is obedient...usually.. he IS still a puppy lol! Thank you Above Standard!

As of today (3, June, 2025), my original review below still stands true. We have utilized their boarded training, weekend boarding (refreshers), and grooming several times. Our experience with Above The Standard has been truly outstanding. The team's passion and dedication shine through in every aspect of their work. After a month under their expert care, our dog, Colt, returned home transformed-his behavior improved, and his confidence visibly increased. The trainers didn't just correct unwanted behaviors; they equipped Colt and our family with practical, lasting skills. Above The Standard has brought a renewed sense of balance and happiness to our lives, and we couldn't be more appreciative. They truly live up to their name.
