Acadia Canine Academy

Linda was one of the many people that I take their calls that do not even involve training a dog. They are usually seeking answers to questions that I do have the answers to. I do not relish answering questions that do not relate to the nature of the business I own, which is dog training. I do not stay on the phone with all these calls but there are those calls that are a public service from me to the caller. At 68 years of age, I have become very cognizant of my own mortality and more aware of when I should give of that precious remaining time I have, and the joy of giving. Linda got my attention and I decided to give.

This family and Penny were a pleasure to work with. Yes, we train the dogs, but we have to train the people on how to deal with their dogs going forward, which is very important. Success of the relationships between dogs and their owners is contingent upon the owners understanding their dog on an animal level first. We take a lot of pride and what we do with the dogs that people bring us and we are totally success oriented inn. m meeting the owners goals and expectations. Why else would we do this, for the money? That is not why we do what we do. It's for the joy of giving to both the dogs and their owners so that both can coexist in a mutually amicable relationship and experience the joys that we experience.

It is people like Mary, Sam, and especially their 12 year old son, not to forget Rosie their dog, that make the world go around for us at Acadia Canine Academy. Their enthusiasm empowers our purpose, and what we do with people's dogs and bringing joy to their owners and families. What we did with Rosie and for her family was a real Kickstarter for the year 2025. It reaffirms that what we do is a great thing. I only wish I was not 68 years old and 20 years old one more time to do it all over again. The joy is overwhelming. The real joy for me with this family was working with their 12-year-old son. I think his name was Carter. I'm better at names of dogs than I am of people, but working with this young man was really a joy, privilege, and an honor. I have only the best wishers for this family and their dog Rosie. WE LOVE YA'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finn and the Carthy family is a long story that has blossomed into a special relationship that has been very fulfilling in many ways. Finn is a male Dutch Shepherd that will be two years old in May 2025. Finn was one of two pups of the first breeding of my Dutch Shepherd Bella Von Acadia Haus to a World Champion competition Dutch Shepherd from The Netherlands premiere breeder Le Dobry Hollanders. https://www.acak9.com/dogs-for-sale Finn was registered with the FCI as Achilles Von Acadia Haus whom was conceived through artificial insemination. He acquired the name Finn when he was sold to the Carthy family, a super true Irish family in Vermont. I have had personal interaction with most of the family members which has, and I am sure will continue to be an ongoing friendship. I sold Finn when he was 4 1/2 months old with a good amount of training invested in him. He was and remains to be a very special dog that is unusually large at 85 pounds and his sister topped 90 pounds. Finn came back to Acadia Canine Academy for our 2 weeks Board & Train Program at 6 months old. Finn was far from an average dog and his training advanced exponentially, particularly with his protection training. The Patriarch of the Carthy family wanted very specialized training such as that Finn would go into a down position facing rearward to guard him from attack from behind while at an ATM or in the bank.Then Mark's 23 year old daughter Charleigh took over training Finn, coming from Vermont for private lessons in protection work with Finn. It's such a joy interacting with this family and Finn who I did give him his first breathe of life and cut his umbilical cord. The joy from this ongoing relationship is immeasurable.
