ACC (Applied Canine Concepts LLC)

Our 8 year old Goldendoodle (Olive) was becoming more and more reactive to dogs, pulling on her leash and overall difficult to train. We tried treats, no pull harnesses, gentle leaders, hiding toys when friends stopped by with their dogs, basic training, etc. We wore ourselves out and became anxious about taking her for walks since she would come unglued at the sight of another dog. We basically stopped enjoying our time with her and settled for a sweet dog who we mostly hid in our house. Then it dawned on us she was likely miserable too. I had been following Applied Canine Concepts on Instagram and decided to send them an email. Immediately, Gina and Fabian scheduled our consultation and gave us several training options which would suit our needs. We chose the Clean Slate Rockstar program and are so thankful we did. Gina and Fabian worked tirelessly with Olive, supported all of our questions and concerns and still offer to help whenever we need guidance or just to check in on Olive’s progress. We are able to enjoy walks again and have both Olive and us trained on how to handle any situation. This was a life changing process that taught us how properly care for, train and establish a great relationship with our girl. It was work on our part too (as expected); fantastic things take time, effort and consistency. ATTENTION DESPERATE DOG OWNERS IN NEED OF OBEDIENCE TRAINING and PROFESSIONALISM LOOK NO FURTHER!! This is the place to go!!!! In December we decided to get an 8 wk old golden doodle ( cutest thing I have ever seen) for our daughter .Fast forward 8 months and the normal puppy mouthing and chewing was not stopping. It was actually getting worse Then to add to that jumping, counter surfing chewing on every piece of furniture we own, tearing the carpet down to the concrete,pulling me down the street while walking him, barking during every conversation I had on and off the phone, you couldn’t even pet him without him biting you or jumping on you to knock you down …( basically the bossiest dog you have ever met) and the list goes on. Our sweet new little puppy was a hand full and creating so much stress and anxiety in our home we weren’t able to even live in our home without arguing or yelling at the dog. Little did we know yelling at the dog and putting him in his kennel as a consequence wasn’t helping at all. Our home was a circus and I was hopeless. We had created a huge dysfunctional relationship with our new pup….. so I looked online and found Fabian and Gina. We went ahead and signed Max up for the three week course. After the first couple days they sent us a video of him walking with Fabian on a leash walking without pulling or playing tug-of-war with the leash or biting him. I was shocked in two days what they did with our dog. As the days passed we received more updates with Max. He was a completely different dog especially the first time we went to go see him for one of the sessions with Gina and Fabian. When we walked in I scratched my head and wondered if that was even our dog or if they replaced him with another dog that looked exactly like him .They taught him not only to obey the commands they had trained him to do but to THINK and then respond, instead of REACT . We have since brought Max home. His training is done but ours has just started. We’re working with him now in hopes to develop the kind of relationship that we were supposed to have. Fabian and Gina are amazing at what they do. They were so kind and patient in the process with us. We are blessed to have found them and are so grateful for them ! If you’re exhausted and tired of reprimanding your dog for unwanted and destructive behaviors there’s HOPE ! Applied canine concepts will give you a whole new life with your pup! In November 2019 my husband and I brought home our first working line German Shepherd Dog, 8 week old Echo, he was the dog of my dreams. The first 6 weeks of training him in his basic commands went very well, he even learned some tricks. However, we ran into some delays in socializing him, including Covid. By the time he was 14 weeks old all of our neighbors were afraid of him, we were asked not to bring him into our favorite pet store because he frightened the manager, we had been asked to leave a restaurant because he lunged at our server and he always seemed to want to eat any little fluffy dog he saw. We needed help, so we scoured the internet to find the right working line GSD trainer in our area. We completed 51 sessions with our trainer and thought we understood what we were to do. We clearly did not. We had reservations about using the prong collar and ecollar and we ended up not really following through with the training we had received. Echo obeyed his basic commands, but we were still struggling with correcting him and his reactivity to other dogs. We began to feel overwhelmed and insecure in our ability to handle our dog. In November 2020, we relocated from California to Florida. We were looking for a reputable, professional, knowledgeable trainer who could handle our dog when we were referred to Applied Canine Concepts. My husband checked them out and I called Gina. We had a brief conversation about Echo and set up a consultation. At our consultation, Gina and Fabian were very professional, knowledgeable and their experience shows. They were able to clearly communicate to us exactly how Echo's mind functions and for us to see how we needed to change the way we view our relationship to our dog and his to us. We discussed their Rock Star and Clean Slate board and train option and decided to sign up on the spot. During Echo's board and train, Gina was outstanding in keeping us updated on Echo's progress. She sent videos and photos and texts frequently. Once Echo had completed his 5 week program, my husband and I began our sessions with Echo and Gina and Fabian. When we arrived Gina brought us into the training room and when Fabian came in with Echo and started doing training exercises with him, I literally had tears of joy in my eyes. Echo was like a completely different dog. He was very obedient and was not trying to lunge at Gina, like he did at our consultation. We are currently in training with Gina and Fabian. They are here for us every step of the way. They have been very professional, motivating, informative and helpful throughout this process. They didn't go easy on us, but I appreciate the straight forward honesty regarding our particular situation. As we continue our training, I am finding it easier and easier by the day. I am learning so much about my dog, how to read his signals, how to communicate to him what the laws of life are, and how to enforce those laws with consistency and confidence. I have learned how to view my role in Echo's life as his leader first and his friend secondly. Every day I train with Echo and I can see the the relationship between he and I changing. He is respecting boundaries, his impulse control has improved greatly, and I can see him thinking on his own and correcting himself before I do. Gina and Fabian are an incredible team and I am extremely thankful to them both. They have literally changed our lives. A huge thank you to Applied Canine Concepts, Gina and Fabian. Parker was a very reactive little puppy he thought everything was going to hurt him and he had responded as such growling and barking and trying to bite and nipping at people but after the Applied Canine Concepts training course the rockstar course Parker is a totally different dog he listens he behaves he wants to show his leaders that he wants to behave and he expects you to be proud of him and when he does wrong he never does it again this transformation in him is astounding I would haveAny dog go back to him for training because those folks know what they’re doing and they know how to communicate with dogs I’m totally dumbfounded and astounded at the same time today made my dog a better dog for all people and all animals like I can’t thank you guys enough you guys are amazing and you guys rock if there’s anything you ever need you don’t hesitate to let me know
