We brought our 2 year old Border Collie Mix Lucy to Applied Canine Concepts. From the beginning we felt like family and were very comfortable leaving our fur baby in their care. Fabien and Gina are exceptional in their expertise and care. Lucy is now more confident, happy, and attentive as to what her role in our family is. She has boundaries yet her same crazy, fun loving personality. We are so happy with her progress.

Shinga our 5-month-old GSD spent four weeks at Applied Canine Concepts. At the completion of her training Shinga knew what her job was, it was me that needed to be trained now. Shinga knew the basics of what to do and now my job was being consistent, clear and communicating with her properly. After working with Olympic athletes and coaches over the years the principals were much the same. Precise repetitions, clear communication and perfect practice. Fabian and Gina did a superb job of teaching Shinga the foundations of commands and dog skills for real life. I call it ‘Training for Real!’ Make no mistake, the training doesn’t stop there. Fabian and Gina continue to support and work with the dogs and owners to reinforce and teach the skills and drills needed to maintain what they learned with group sessions and individual work as needed. It’s said it takes 10 years and 10,000 hours to create an Olympic athlete. It wont take that long for your dog become your best friend and faithful companion but it will take work and continued practice from you and your dog to reach the level you want.  Applied Canine Concepts has provided Shinga and I with the skills and tools to have a safe, fun and exciting time together. We recently purchased an 8 week old German Shepherd knew before we got her we wanted her professionally trained. I did my research and came across Applied Canine Concepts and loved their philosophy. After contacting Gina one of the owner/trainers we brought Sophie in for an evaluation and signed her up on the spot for the month long course, she stated at 16 weeks old. We are beyond thrilled and just love Gina and Fabian, they not only train your dog, they train You! We want a happy, obedient, safe dog and with the training and concepts they use and teach you to continue using that is what you will get. I have just had my 3 year old golden retriever Jetty, and 2 year old Pitt bull Atlas, trained by Gina and Fabian, and I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions I have made. My golden was a very sweet, but OVERLY excited pup , which created stressful situations for everyday activities. He would pull on the leash during walks, react to other dogs, jump on guests coming to our house, and was a huge counter surfer. He really did not have any boundaries, and did not have a strong recall. My pit bull would also jump on guests, did not have a strong recall, and needed some leash walking etiquette as well. I placed both of them in the 3 week program, where they were trained on and off leash. When the time came to pick up my boys, the transformation was truly amazing. Both dogs still have their sweet and playful demeanor, but now with boundaries and structure which allows for them to have so much more freedom! They both now walk calmly and in control on a loose leash, as well as know commands such as down and place. All because they are now “connected” to me. It really has strengthened my relationship with them to build an even stronger bond, and I can enjoy my time with them so much more now without any of us feeling stressed. I know that I can take them out on a walk or have them off the leash on the beach and trust that they know their job. When researching where to have them trained, I know I felt a little overwhelmed because there is so much information, opinions, and techniques on how to have your dogs trained. But, immediately upon meeting Gina and Fabian I could see the genuine care and passion they have for what they do, as well as impressive knowledge about dogs and how they think. They broke down and explained everything to me in a such a relatable and understandable way. I knew right away that they were who I was going to go with. From the beginning they have been extremely attentive and accommodating, all the way through the training process, and now after the training is completed. They have stuck with me now that I have both dogs back with me and are always willing to answer any questions I may have, and work for a solution. I would definitely recommend anyone having your dog trained at Applied Canine Concepts, they are awesome!! Our standard poodle puppy completed the 5 week training program with Applied Canine Concepts at 4 months. She is now 7 months old and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome! Gina and Fabian are the absolute best, we were astounded by their knowledge on dog training.
