What a wonderful place to train your dog. Jenn understands there are several ways to train a dog. One method will not work on all dogs. I have a Mini Goldendoodle who has worked her way through AKC Obedience, earning her UD Title just last year. I worked with a professional trainer who was also working a dog through the same sequence, however her dog required a firmer hand, she was trying to instill those same training tactics for my dog. My dog is very soft and if you get to firm with her, she will shut down and that is exactly what happened. I have all the respect in the world for my first trainer, but I feel if we had handled the dog differently I may have avoided some of the stumbling blocks I have faced. Currently training an Aussie Doodle with Jenn, we passed the performance puppy class, now on to teenage performance along with Novice Obedience. Jenn just explained last week, there is no rush to getting her in the obedience ring. She is still very young and I love her energy. So glad I enrolled in the first puppy class.
