How do I potty train my new dog?
At Agoge K9 LLC, we understand that potty training your new dog can be a challenging and time-consuming process. However, with the right techniques and consistent effort, you can successfully potty train your pup and establish good habits that will last a lifetime.
The first step in potty training your dog is establishing a consistent routine. This means feeding your dog at the same times each day and taking them outside for potty breaks on a regular schedule. Most puppies will need to go outside to potty every 2-3 hours and shortly after waking up, after meals, and before bedtime.
When you take your dog outside for potty breaks, it's important to choose a designated spot and use a specific command, such as "go potty," to help them understand what you want them to do. Be patient and give them ample time to sniff around and find the right spot.
Consistency is key in potty training, so reward your dog with plenty of praise and treats when they go potty in the right spot. On the other hand, if your dog has an accident inside, it's important to clean it up thoroughly and avoid punishing them, as this can lead to anxiety and other behavioral issues.
Finally, it's essential to supervise your dog closely when inside, especially during the early stages of potty training. This may mean keeping them in a crate or confined area when you cannot supervise them directly.
At Agoge K9 LLC, we offer a variety of training programs to help you and your dog establish good habits and overcome behavioral challenges. Our experienced trainers can work with you to develop a customized training plan that meets your specific needs and goals. Contact us today to learn more about our services and how we can help you and your dog succeed.

Choosing the right dog for your family can be daunting, but with careful consideration and research, you can find the perfect match. Here are some tips from Agoge K9 LLC to help you choose the right dog for your family:
Consider your lifestyle: Before choosing a dog, consider your lifestyle and what type of dog would fit in best. Do you have an active lifestyle and enjoy spending time outdoors? Then a high-energy dog like a Border Collie or a Labrador Retriever might be a good fit. A smaller dog, like a Chihuahua or a French Bulldog, might be better if you live in an apartment with limited space.
Consider your family members: If you have young children, it's important to choose a gentle and patient dog with kids. Breeds like Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and Beagles are known for their friendly and playful personalities and are great with kids.
Research breeds: Research different breeds to learn about their temperament, exercise needs, and health issues. This will help you narrow down your choices and choose a breed that fits your family well.
Consider adopting a dog from a local animal shelter or rescue group. These dogs are often already trained and socialized, and adopting a dog can be a rewarding experience.
Meet the dog: Once you have narrowed your choices, spend time with the dog before bringing them home. This will allow you to see if the dog is a good fit for your family and if you are a good fit for the dog.
Remember, choosing the right dog for your family is important and should not be taken lightly. You can find the perfect match for your family with careful consideration and research. If you have trouble training your dog, seek professional help from a qualified dog trainer at Agoge K9 LLC.

What are some common behavior problems in dogs, and how do I prevent them?
As a dog owner, it is important to be aware of common behavior problems that can arise in dogs and take preventative measures to address them. Here are some common behavior problems in dogs and ways to prevent them:
1. Aggression - Aggression in dogs can result from fear, anxiety, territorial behavior, or poor socialization. To prevent aggression, it is important to socialize your dog from a young age, avoid harsh punishments, and seek professional help if aggression becomes a problem.
2. Separation anxiety - Dogs with separation anxiety may become destructive or anxious when left alone. To prevent separation anxiety, gradually introduce your dog to being alone, provide plenty of exercises and mental stimulation, and consider crate training.
3. Excessive barking - Excessive barking can be a nuisance to you and your neighbors. To prevent excessive barking, provide adequate exercise and mental stimulation, teach your dog a “quiet” command, and avoid rewarding barking behavior.
4. Destructive chewing - Dogs may engage in destructive chewing behavior out of boredom, anxiety, or a lack of proper chew toys. To prevent destructive chewing, provide plenty of appropriate chew toys, supervise your dog whenever needed, and provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.
5. Jumping up - Dogs may jump up on people out of excitement or a desire for attention. To prevent jumping up, teach your dog to sit or stay when greeting people, avoid rewarding jumping behavior, and provide plenty of exercises and mental stimulation.
Being aware of common behavior problems and taking preventative measures can ensure your dog is well-behaved and happy. If you are having trouble addressing any behavior problems in your dog, seek professional help from a qualified dog trainer or behaviorist like Agoge K9 LLC.

As a dog training and boarding company, Agoge K9 LLC understands the importance of proper nutrition for your new furry family member. The right diet is essential for maintaining your dog's health and well-being. When selecting food for your dog, it's essential to consider their age, breed, activity level, and any health conditions they may have. Generally, a high-quality, balanced diet that meets your dog's nutritional needs is key.
One option is to feed your dog with commercial food that meets the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) standards. These foods have been formulated to provide your dog with the appropriate balance of nutrients. Look for a high-quality protein source as the main ingredient, such as chicken, beef, or fish. Avoid foods with fillers or byproducts, as these do not provide the same level of nutrition.
You can also consider a raw food diet consisting of raw meat, fruits, and vegetables. This diet can provide a variety of health benefits for your dog, including improved digestion, healthier skin and coat, and a stronger immune system. However, it is important to properly handle and prepare raw food to avoid any health risks for both you and your dog.
No matter what type of diet you choose for your dog, always provide them with fresh, clean water and monitor their weight and overall health. Consult with a veterinarian or a canine nutritionist to determine the best diet for your dog.

Our 2-year-old cockapoo had several issues we just couldn’t resolve on our own. She didn’t listen consistently and struggled with a lot of anxiety. We tried personal trainers, online programs, and a variety of training styles—but all it did was leave both her and us confused.
We were feeling pretty desperate when Agoge K-9 popped up on my Facebook page (probably thanks to all my dog training searches!). But Brian’s approach stood out—his training style was different.
We began using his techniques and started seeing some improvement, but we knew we needed more help. After several conversations with Brian about our challenges, we decided the Board & Train program was the best next step.
We loved the weekly progress videos and the hands-on training we received when we picked her up—it was truly invaluable. We are so pleased with the well-mannered dog we now have, and the continued support we’ve received is priceless.
Thank you, Brian and Abe, for helping give us such a well-mannered dog to share our home and lives with

All I can say is the online chaos to calm was simply amazing and I'm sure whatever your need for Brian is, he will meet and surpass by far your expectations (as long as you follow his program like he tells you)

Agoge K9 was an 11/10 for our family. They did a fantastic job. Our dog is now less nervous, follows the rules (most of the time!) and is able to interact with the outside world in a much better way. The Agoge team was responsive, took the time to explain concepts and taught us to be much better for our dog (it’s often the dog owners who need the teaching, at least in my case!). Highly recommended.
Update: we now have also brought our wild and crazy but awesome golden retriever puppy to Agoge K9 to build a strong foundation from the get go. Another 11/10 job. Wish we did this back in time with all our dogs.

The entire process was very well done. I really liked getting the weekly update videos and there were plenty of them. Not just once a week. Especially at the end with public interactions with people. The professionalism was top notch, and the trainers were very knowledgeable. The fact that it’s a lifetime guarantee is a huge selling point. It’s expensive, for sure, but I think it’s worth the cost.
