AlphA and Omega Dog Training

Words simply can't define how great Billy, Austin and Jay with Alpha and Omega Training are at what they do. We have a 3 yr old, 105lb American Bulldog and an 8 yr old 20lb American Eskimo who, before we came to Alpha and Omega, were unable to be out ANYWHERE together.Our bulldog Petey had aggression issues and a fear of kids as well after being traumatized as a puppy by a rambunctious child. These issues are no more.Now not only do we take BOTH our furbabies out to restaurants with us but our big boy just let the same child that traumatized him pet him on the head and go on a walk together. We are simply blessed to have had these guys come into our life and give both us and our pets the trust and respect in one another to enjoy life as a family.Thanks Alpha and Omega, we are proud members of your pack for life!

Alpha and Omega is the only real game in town. They don't clock in and out of your training. They become part of your family. We have done son many sessions already and each one gets better and better. My kids look forward to training days after school. We spend time in the front of the house, parks and just this last Saturday we met Alpha downtown st Pete for the Saturday morning market. We did our training outside with tons of distractions. These guys build your dogs spirit, they instill confidence in you as the owner to keep doing the work. I asked Billy how do we proceed and he said to me, we are with you guys for life! Where else do you hear commitment like that? They helped us realize that a trained dog is a happy dog. I highly recommend Alpha, I believe you are doing yourself and your pet a disservice by going to anyone else! Jason

I recommend Alpha and Omega Dog Training to everyone I see! I have the utmost respect for their positive approach to training. My husband and I recently rescued Bella and Maddie. Bella was a retired puppy mill breeder who had been badly abused and was fearful of anyone even looking at her. Maddie had been a stray who also had apparently been abused but she was somewhat more willing to be approached. I had seen first hand the remarkable things Alpha and Omega had done for my son's new puppy...amazing...just amazing. We were challenged about how to bring Bella out of her shell and teach her the good things about being a normal pet. Not only did she need basic training, she was afraid to even walk on a leash...had never seen grass, never been touched in a kind way...just knew nothing about being a dog. This little girl was more comfortable cowering in a corner than being held and loved. Maddie needed basic trading and stability in her life. Billy from Alpha and Omega took a very positive approach to basic training AND behavior modification. Now, after just a few short weeks both my girls are happy to walk with me, well behaved and anxious to please. Those that knew them before cannot believe the great change in their behavior! It's obvious these trainers do what they do to TRULY make a difference in the lives of people and their pets...and they love doing it!

The short of it: Billy and Jay are amazing! They have helped my fiance and me train our rescue dog, a pit/boxer/beagle mix, who was incredibly aggressive towards and wanted to hurt our resident cat. No treat or toy was going to break her focus on getting the cat which is why we sought the type of training Alpha and Omega offers. About two months after starting, we are finally settling in towards co-existence between the two pets in addition to having bonded with our new dog through this training which has been great! Throughout the experience, Jay and Billy were also incredibly responsive and flexible when we had questions or needed them to come by for a quick follow-up session. Couldn't recommend them more! The longer story: My fiance and I sought the help of Alpha and Omega about two months after adopting a rescue who is 2-3 years old and was found as a stray in Puerto Rico so we're really not sure of her history. From the very beginning it was clear that she LOVED people as evidenced when she would roll over for a belly roll almost immediately after meeting anyone new. However, she didn't know the word NO which made any kind of discipline difficult and even more troublesome was that she was incredibly aggressive towards cats and other small furry creatures. This was a huge problem for us because we had a cat who was already part of the family. After trying some suggestions we found on various dog training website and blogs about how to acclimate a dog to a cat, in addition to some basic treat-based obedience classes at a pet store, we felt like there was no light at the end of the tunnel and knew that if we couldn't fix this we would have to re-home her somewhere without a cat. It's now been about 2.5 months since we started training with Jay and Billy and things are so much better! We've still got a lot of work to do with the cat and dog, which they told us from the start, but we now can see the light at the end of the tunnel and our dog is to the point where she now pretty much ignores the cat. Before hiring Alpha and Omega, we had to keep them totally separate and if our dog even just caught a glimpse of the cat, she started lunging, barking, and her teeth would chatter from all of the adrenaline. Aside from helping us with the cat aggression, the training that Alpha and Omega offers really helps you bond with your dog. We can now let our dog off the leash and feel confident that she'll come back when called, that she'll listen if we tell her to drop something, and that instead of running towards a distraction, such as another dog or person, she'll look to us for what to do. All this and she still a happy puppy who loves to cuddle and chase her ball around the yard :)

Our hound, Dixie, was a stray that we adopted from the SPCA. She had many fear-based issues and was aggressive because of it. She ran away 3 times in the first six months we had her. We went through 3 trainers that utilized praise with treats and the clicker method, none of which were effective for her behavior problems. Then came Billy. From the very first session, Dixie was paying attention, and was eager to please. I was stunned to say the least! He works with you to make sure you understand how to get the results you are wanting to achieve and is always available if you need clarification or have questions.
