AlphA and Omega Dog Training helps owners build clear communication, structure and reliable obedience with their dogs. Our philosophy is simple: Train the Human. The Dog Follows. We work with owners and dogs through obedience training, behavior modification, on-leash and off-leash training, e-collar training, board and train programs, service dog training, protection training and real-world distraction training. Our focus is not simply teaching commands, it is teaching owners how to communicate with and confidently handle their dogs in everyday situations. Training programs begin with an evaluation to determine the dog, owner and program needs.

In this program, the foundation for basic obedience is put into place with added expectations designed to develop stronger teamwork between you and your dog. This is a great program if you’re looking to take a proactive approach to dog training and avoid some of the most common and troublesome behaviors in and around your home. During behavioral development, the focus expands past handling techniques and delves into the psychology of the dog to change the relationship between you and your companion and enjoy a new way of living. Effective communication is the most important aspect of your training and all communication is built on trust, boundaries, and respect. Curriculum for the Behavioral Development Program includes: walking in the heel position on- and off-leash, basic commands (heel, sit, stay, down and come), kennel acclimation, establishment of boundaries, redirect, distance recall, drop it and leave it, and go to spot.

Program details
Our Board and Train Program provides top tier training for both human and dogs. If it is determined that you qualify for the Board & Train Program, your dog will be with an AlphA and Omega Certified Trainer for two weeks. Wherever your Trainer goes during the course of his/her normal daily activities, your dog will follow. This includes parks, malls, restaurants, beaches, and any other naturally occurring activity you can think of. We train in the real world environment to produce real world results!

Program details
This program is designed to protect you and your family members at home or in a vehicle. Through a series of commands given, your dog will “Turn On” when it is needed and “Turn Off” when the threat is no longer there or the command is given to “Turn Off”.The dog should remain in a “Turn Off” mode until the command is given to “Turn On”. This is necessary for the dog to be able to remain calm in all settings, but at attention. In order for a family dog to be trained for this service, your dog must be at least one (1) year of age, have a solid temperament and must be both Basic and Advanced Obedience trained.

Service dogs (sometimes referred to as assistance dogs) are equipped to help people with physical, neurological, or psychological disabilities perform everyday tasks. They help people overcome limitations caused by their disability and increase their independence and quality of life. They can sense that their handler is about to experience a medical problem, alert them of it, and assist or provide comfort when the problem occurs.These dogs can provide a wide range of assistance to address many types of physical limitations. They can alert people with hearing impairment to ringing phones and doorbells, help people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Military Sexual Trauma, or Traumatic Brain Injury to function successfully in public. Service dogs help them to feel secure and ease tension while in stressful situations. Each service Dog/handler team is individually trained to address the unique needs of the handler.

Program details
This training is designed train your dog to protect a business or property. The dog will learn to bite on command, and will be trained to do so through a series of commands. Once the “Turn On” command is given, the dog should get aggressive, at this point the warning is given to the intruder and the dog can be released.The dog is taught where and when the bite should happen. Once the impact / bite happens, we will teach your dog to release and “Come to a Heel” and still be on “Alert” but remain under the influence of your command. This program is designed to protect business personnel or protect property owned by your business and cannot be used in any in home business or personal dwelling in a residential area. This program is only for commercial businesses and their personnel.

We came to AlphA and Omega to get help with our rescue dog, Archer (boxer). He came to our family at a year old and after 6 months, we couldn't trust him to not run off if he got out of the house and he had absolutely no leash manners. He also struggled with knowing social cues between dogs, which ended up getting him put on probation at our doggy daycare place. He was always good with our other dog Lana (boxer, 5 years old), so we didn't see the issues at home. From the time of our evaluation, we saw immediate results when Jay worked with Archer. So we signed up that night, and brought both Lana and Archer to their first session shortly thereafter. We came in to address a very specific issue with one dog, but the program was much more all encompassing and delivered on things that we didn't even know we wanted with how we interact with our dogs. Every session builds upon the last, and there was a lot of retraining my husband and myself, but the results were so immediate and encouraging that the reward greatly outweighed the effort. Before training, I couldn't take one dog let alone both dogs on a walk. They were both big pullers and if they saw another dog, they would lose their minds. I found myself turning other directions to avoid the chance they might see another dog, apologizing profusely to other people as they walked by promising that "they really are nice dogs," or running quickly past people with dogs to "get it over with faster." All of it was completely embarrassing. Now, I can take both dogs on a walk (off leash even, if we're in a safe place to do that) and they walk right next to me in the heel position. We are able to take them with us more places and don't worry about who might be there or if they will get into things. We were at a cookout on July 4th with 30+ people in attendance (half of which were little kids). The dogs were perfect for us the entire time and the kids got a kick out of petting them (without the dogs getting in their faces) and giving them treats. We got Lana when she was 8 weeks old and went to a place where we did clicker training. The program was 6 weeks and at the end, you went through a test and got a certificate. Lana, being a stubborn boxer, wasn't food motivated and also gave a lot of attitude after she would do something once if she were asked to do it again. We came out of the program with her knowing sit, down, touch, and wait... and pretty much only when she felt like doing it (but it was enough for her to get her certificate). In less than a month working with AlphA and Omega, we have both dogs listening to us on and off leash with sit, down, stay, spot, heel, off, quiet, leave it, drop it, etc. This has truly been a life changing experience with how we are (and will be) able to integrate our dogs into all the areas of our life we've wanted. We are immensely grateful that a place like this exists so close to home and for everything we've been able to learn so far.

I went to AlphA and Omega because my rescue dog has always had high anxiety, aggression, and was awful on the leash. Jay and Alicia took the time to get to know Cleo and her background story before and after I rescued her to be able to understand her needs and opportunities. I can't tell you how happy I have been with the process and how they are so genuine each time I work with them. Jay and Alicia have put in an insurmountable amount of time with Cleo over the past month and I see such a difference in her leash skills and overall demeanor towards others. She is still a work in progress, but I seriously am so blown away by how they have trained her and me at the same time. Not only is she respecting me as the leader, but our bond has gotten even stronger. I am extremely lucky to be a part of their pack!
