Alpha Instincts Dog Training

Vanessa was my trainer and she did absolutely amazing! My dog had some adult dog issues that came up with age - food aggression, dog aggression, and just some general issues. Vanessa took him in for the 4 week board and train program and it did wonders! He listens better, commands that I wanted him to learn he now knows - like place and heel and better leash walking. It's like a new dog. Our relationship is also so much better. I highly recommend Alpha Instincts if you need help with your dog in any manner. The refresher courses are also super helpful when I start to notice us needing to remember how to handle things as a team. Plus the reuniting with trainer and dog is so sweet to watch. Thank you again to the whole team, but especially Vanessa for helping Mercury get back on track!

We have a very high energy golden retriever who did the board and train program with Vanessa. She did such a great job with him. He came back a different dog and we can now take him on enjoyable walks, and he can be around other people and dogs with no problem. She was fantastic in helping him work on his impulse control. She also gave us almost daily updates and videos on his progress, and now that he’s home, she still continues to check in on him. You can tell their trainers genuinely care about helping you and your dog. I’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for high quality dog training!

Luna and I had a GREAT experience working with Rachel and Alpha Instincts. Rachel definitely had her work cut out for her working with Luna. Luna is an upper mid-content Wolfdog who is extremely timid and insecure, along with having had some food resource guarding issues. Rachel was very knowledgeable on wolf behavior, which contributed greatly to successfully knowing and understanding how to best work with Luna, as some behaviors of wolves differ from dogs. Luna went from being too scared to walk down the street with everyday normal noises, such as cars, lawnmowers, even people talking, to NOW being able to walk through Lowe’s with all the people, carts and loud noises! Rachel was able to help build Luna’s confidence, as well as completely stop her resource guarding. I can now take food from Luna’s mouth without any issues. Not only was Rachel able to train Luna, she was also able to teach me a tremendous amount of knowledge about the behaviors of dogs, which has greatly helped grow my relationship with Luna closer. I would DEFINITELY recommend Rachel for any behavioral issues you want to help your dog with. If Rachel can train a wolf, she can train any dog!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with Alpha Insticts Board and Train program. Our golden retriever, Winston, came home knowing exactly what was expected of him. He no longer pulls on walks. Instead, he walks at “heel,” checking in with me throughout the walk. He is much more confident in new situations, again, checking in with me and trusting me to protect him. He can relax at “place” regardless of what’s going on around him. He goes to his kennel on command and relaxes while he’s there. Justin was such an amazing trainer. He kept us informed every day with training videos showing what he and Winston worked on that day and cute photos too. We always looked forward to our updates. Winston bonded with Justin during their time together and was so excited to see him at his one week follow up session. The drop off training provided to me gave me the confidence that I could successfully continue Winston’s training at home. He’s definitely a happier dog, knowing what is expected and exactly how to please. I especially love that throughout Winston’s life, he will continue to be part of the Alpha Instincts family with two follow-up training sessions a year! This is the best thing we could ever do for him!
