About American K-9 Interdiction
AK9I is a SDVOSB that specializes in real world K-9 solutions. From training of both the handler and dog, to the sale of green and fully trained dogs, we are a full service K-9 solutions provider. We also have operational K-9 teams available for short or long term requirements. We have a variety of K-9 handler training courses available, and have the ability to do custom and mobile courses as well. We have operational K-9 teams ready for immediate deployment anywhere in the U.S. that are trained in explosives (both regular EDD as well as Mobile Odor), narcotics, and bed bugs. Do you guys offer temp. Housing for students enrolled in the trainer/handler school?
Yes, AK9I has great dorms on one of the training sites. Very comfortable and beautiful setting in Zuni, VA.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to my trainer Nicole and AK9I for taking my dog Akari in for board and train. It was 100% worth it. Training myself to help my dog get to where she is now was challenging and sometimes discouraging, but Nicole has been awesome and very patient with me. I can confidently say I can walk off leash with my girl and she won't run off, I can put her in a sit and have the door wide open and she won't run away. It's been a lot of ongoing training, not only for her but for me too. We are working on continuing to build that bond and having fun with it. I highly recommend AK9I for your fur baby, you won't be disappointed! The support you get from the trainers is very reassuring.

I'm a recent graduate of their 13-week program and it was a wonderful experience. The trainers were knowledgeable and created a non-stressful friendly, learning environment. I learned a lot because the instructors and all the staff, including the CEO, wanted the students to be successful, in addition, to everyone being available to help provide support and whatever resources you required. It's amazing how intelligent these canines are and there's a lot to being a competent handler besides knowing how to hold onto the end of a leash. I was provided with a terrific K9 partner and I highly recommend AK9I if you are considering pursuing this type of career. I want to personally express my sincere gratitude to all the personnel at AK9I for allowing me to fulfill a lifelong dream. The opportunity provided by AK9I will always be an important part of my life and an exceptional memory. Thanks again.
You can learn a lot if you apply yourself. The AK9I certification is useless for jobs though and no job assistance was provided. Better to use GI Bill on Custom Canine or Tom Rose Academy for a career.
