My Boston Terrier Pete and I just completed a 12 week training class and it completely changed our daily lives. I have a stroke related handicap and Anna was amazing helping me adapt. She took the extra time to teach us the correct, safe and proper use of the prong and e-collar in way that worked perfectly for my physical needs. Learning how to communicate clearly to Pete with these tools made a night and day difference. Thanks to Anna Pete no longer drags me around, doesn't chase the cat and no longer excessively barks when he doesn't get his way. Highly recommend! Anna did a fantastic job helping me learn how to train my high energy pittie/boxer mix, Hazel. Hazel always struggled with impulse control, leash pulling, and had started to become more reactive towards people and dogs. It was always stressful taking Hazel places because I wasn't sure how she was going to react. Anna took the time to get to know Hazel and tailored the training to help meet Hazel's needs and give Hazel the structure and confidence to thrive. The difference is incredible! If your looking for effective training with trainers who genuinely care, I can't recommend Anna and Asheville Dog Academy enough!

We had a wonderful experience with Asheville Dog Academy and especially with Rebecca, our trainer. We enrolled both of our dogs, Charlie and Parker, in the 11-week Ultimate Success Obedience Program. Charlie was almost 2 years old and Parker was just over a year old when we started, and we came in with a long list of behaviors we wanted help with. At the time, Charlie was doing okay, but Parker had tons of energy and was very reactive toward other dogs and strangers in public. Taking them out to lunch or to have a beer somewhere was not enjoyable or realistic. They dragged us everywhere, and we were also dealing with digging in the yard and some toy-aggression issues. Chris assured us during the consultation that our goals were achievable through the program, and he was absolutely right. Rebecca really shined as our instructor. She was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and easy to work with. She taught Charlie and Parker so much, but just as importantly, she taught Trish and me how to better communicate with them and set them up for success. Looking back at day one, it is amazing to see how far they came. By the time we were in group sessions, Charlie and Parker were behaving calmly in close quarters with several other dogs and owners, listening, heeling, and staying focused even with distractions around them. We did not even specifically work on digging, but they stopped doing it on their own as they picked up better habits along the way. This program was exactly the investment we hoped it would be. It has helped us build a happier, safer, and much less stressful life with our sweet fur babies. We would absolutely recommend Asheville Dog Academy, and especially Rebecca, to anyone looking for help with behavior or wanting to level up with more specialized training.
