At Attention Dog Training

We have nothing but overwhelming praise and appreciation for Alicia who helped us with our 7 year old rescue pup Indy, who to this point has been extremely reactive to persons outside of our small family. We've previously worked with two other trainers, and outside of some basic obedience, we did not have a ton to show for it. Alicia provided us with practical and straightforward advice and solutions to mitigate the worst of his behaviors, and reinforce his positive ones. We made a ton of progress working with her, and in our last session, Vania pitched in to act as a new/unfamiliar person in home, which would have previously been unheard of. This was really impressive as I never thought we'd be able to teach our old dog new tricks. Overall, we can't recommend At Attention enough and so appreciate the difference they made for us!

Our vet recommended At Attention Dog Training to help our pup Mylo improve his confidence and obedience. Our instructor Carli worked with us in the home, and she was great! She helped us work on important concepts so that Mylo has increased his patience, decreased pulling of the leash, improved his recall, and displayed better manners around family, friends and other dogs. We adopted a puppy, Bruno, a year ago. As he grew to a 2-year-old (and 100lbs.), he became very reactive and difficult to control around people and other dogs. We had to stop taking him for walks and stop having people over to our house. We were very worried and did not know where to turn for help. We signed up for in-home training with Alicia, and from the very first session, we saw immediate improvement. Alicia helped us understand Bruno's thoughts, fears, and other emotions. Within a week, he was already beginning to overcome his fear and reactiveness. After just a few sessions, he is now very much where we need him to be. He is great on walks and very good with people. He no longer barks at our neighbors. Bruno is now much happier and content, whether at home in our yard, around other people, or out on walks. It was not about discipline. It was about understanding his psychology and learning the tools to reach him most efficiently so that he could be well-adjusted and happy. Alicia did this for us - a very welcome addition to our home during our sessions. She is absolutely the best.

I strongly believe that a well-trained dog is a happy dog. We adopted a 6 month old Shi-Chon puppy 2 months ago, and while I had learned training techniques that I used for dogs I had in the past, I hadn't trained a puppy in 14 years, and forgot just how difficult and stressful it can be, so I contacted At Attention Dog Training. We opted for the 5 session in-home puppy training. Our trainer Carli was WONDERFUL --- prompt, confident in her abilities, professional and displayed a broad knowledge in dog training. Our concerns included proper potty training, as well as an effective way to discourage our puppy from eating mulch. Carli listened to our concerns and showed us effective training techniques to address these issues. With practice on our part, our puppy now positively responds to our cues, resulting in the desired behavior, and we now have the tools going forward to address any behavior issue that arises in the future. Had I not called At Attention Dog Training, I know I'd still be struggling with issues that are now effectively addressed, which has made our life with our puppy happier and stress-free for all of us, him included.
