I can’t say enough good things about Atlantic K9- they completely changed our dog for the better. We have a German Shorthaired pointer lab mix named Sox who has obviously a ton of energy and a very strong drive to hunt. We had tried previously to train him to be reliable off leash so we could fulfill his needs properly, but he would get distracted by everything that moved and it was impossible for us to trust him off leash. He pulled on walks due to excitement, counter surfed, and was a typical teenage dog that would be quite selective with when he listened to us. I found Atlantic K9 through an extensive search for a place that had incredible reviews and would train him on an e-collar. The whole process start to finish was amazing. They are so responsive and answered the millions of questions I had with patience and thoroughness. They got him into the board and train during the exact dates we asked for which was so helpful. We got daily photos of Sox and we could see that he was having the absolute best time. They updated us on his progress and we felt very informed and included throughout the full two week board and train. When we picked him up and had his first lesson, we were absolutely shocked. He was a different dog. Walking him on leash was easy and enjoyable, his engagement was through the roof, and his recall was already so much stronger than it had been two short weeks prior. I couldn’t believe the progress they were able to make with him in that time frame. After we got home with him, we realized how beneficial the board and train at Atlantic K9 really was. Since we picked him up, we have been able to have him off leash in many different situations with 100% recall. He is fully engaged with us the entire time and never strays more than three or four strides ahead of us. Atlantic K9 helped us to have the well trained dog we have always dreamed of. I get asked on a daily basis if he is a military or police working dog because he is so well behaved in every situation. I can’t thank Ari and everyone at Atlantic K9 for the work they did with Sox! I would absolutely recommend them to anyone. We will definitely be using them in the future for any training or boarding needs. We truly couldn’t be happier with our experience and how well trained Sox is thanks to them!

This time last year, me and my husband were truly struggling. Our a little older than 1 year old pup, Lacey, was resource guarding to the point where we were beginning to feel unsafe in our home. We started (positive reinforcement) training with Lacey when she was just 5 months old and continued working with her through daily training and enrichment. The resource guarding around food, spaces in our home, and even me, were just getting worse. After attempting to work with multiple trainers one on one, we decided it was time for a boot camp setting. When my husband first brought the Atlantic K9 site to me, I was super hesitant about using both a prong and e-collar with our dog. If I had known the happiness and freedom bootcamp and the tools would not only give us, but Lacey, I would have done it immediately. Lacey needed structure, boundaries, and positivity and that is what she gained. Is she going to be perfect? No.. and for the record, we were never promised perfect. But we have our lives back and the tools to help Lacey live a safe and rewarding life. We have been having so much fun working on her off leash skills and hikes too-- her recall is amazing! We feel confident in off leash settings that Lacey and the dogs around her will be safe. Working with Ari and Jenny was truly a gift. They were able to help us understand the root of Lacey's behaviors and gave us tips and knowledge along the entire journey all while encouraging us and highlighting all of the positives things about our pup--especially when we were so focused and worried about the negative behaviors. We were very comforted by seeing the daily photo updates and the trainers were just a text or call away. Thank you so much, Atlantic K9! This has been the most rewarding year, thanks to all of you! Lacey can't wait for boarding in April, which will be 1 year since her bootcamp!

Magnum our 16 month old GSD was becoming dog aggressive on leash and his barking was becoming excessive when he saw other dogs and some people. His leash walking was not great. After a 2 week boot camp at Atlantic K9 in Boxford MA & the introduction of an ecollar, Magnum was transformed. He was able to play with a few dogs which was not possible before. His heel command was so much better and now we have peace and quiet. Quiet is now a command he understands and respects. Working with Ari was a pleasure. Her enthusiasm and experience made Magnum's training and our training go so smoothly. We highly recommend Atlantic K9's board and train boot camp.

Lilys experience at Atlantic K9 was very special for her and I. Lily recently completed the two-week bootcamp program and has since been thriving. Lily is an 11-month-old mixed breed rescue who came into our family during the summer of 2022. I have been around dogs my entire life and was confident I could begin training basic commands. Pretty quickly after adopting Lily I began researching training programs as I wanted Lily to master not only the basics but wanted to challenge her in being the best she could be. This included wanting a no-pull leash walk, strong recall and the ability to listen off-leash. I can confidently say that all of these goals and more were achieved with Atlantic K9. During my research in looking for a reputable training program I was lucky to find Atlantic K9. I was looking for a place where I thought would produce not only results, but I also needed to feel that my puppy would be safe and would be treated for properly. I looked into various programs at various places, and I kept coming back to Atlantic K9. The endless reviews of incredible experiences with Atlantic K9 was something I just couldn't resist and was drawn too. To be fully honest I would randomly google Atlantic K9 just to see if a new review popped up because I was so excited to hear another success story. It provided me with excitement, and I finally reached out. From the first time I emailed/called and discussed my goals and aspirations for Lily and the program I felt comfortable. The team at Atlantic K9 is knowledgeable, confident but they also just get it. They get the "nervous" dog parent worries, they get the concerns, and they listen. They were supportive before being enrolled, during enrollment, during Lilys stay and have continued to be supportive since the program. During Lilys bootcamp I was able to see photos of Lily each day. The team would send over random messages and provide updates. They also encouraged me to reach out whenever I wanted too if I had any questions or simply wanted an update. I had a lengthy phone call halfway through the program and got the full scoop on Lily and her progress. I was shocked when I first heard Lily was learning "heel". I mean I understand one of my desired goals was a no-pull leash walk but I never thought she would learn heel. Lily was also working on her recall command and was beginning to step into her off-leash training. At the end of the two-week program and upon pick-up I spent an hour on site to be trained on everything Lily learned and techniques that I would need to continue to use at home. The team at Atlantic K9 continued to check in on Lily and I was able to text/call back and forth with them if I had any questions. A month after the program we had a second in person follow-up training. Lily was able to showcase everything she learned and had continued to work on over the month. It was a great session in which I was able to further my education on more techniques and tweak anything that I was possibly doing incorrectly. It's now been not even two months since Lily completed the bootcamp program and she is thriving. I am able to walk Lily with such ease. This means Lily gets to come everywhere with me! She can loose-leash walk, and she can go into heel upon command. Lily has such a strong recall thanks to Atlantic K9. As soon as I say, "come here", she instantly comes over to me. Lily was playing with a dog the other day and during mid-play I said, "Lily come here" and she came over without hesitation. The other dog parent was so impressed and jokingly asked its dog why it can't listen that well. It was a light-hearted moment but a moment that reinforced how well the training went. Lily is now also able to roam off-leash. I feel confident in her recall that we venture through the woods, play at the beach and roam around outside the house without a leash. Thanks to Atlantic K9 I have the resources, tools and education to continue to challenge Lily. Lily is so engaged with me and its really helped me in providing a more fulfilling life for her.

We have a 5-year old female Yorkie mix (named Ollie) that needed some serious training due to some challenging behavioral issues. These issues included not walking properly while on the leash (pulling, refusal to walk), fear/anxiety during walks (which recently developed over the past year), and reactivity towards other dogs while on the leash (pulling/lunging/barking/growling). The reactivity towards other dogs made it almost impossible to walk her as we live in a large apartment complex with a big dog community. Additionally, we felt immense anxiety every time we had to take Ollie on a walk. After speaking with trainer Ari at Atlantic K9, she made us feel comfortable right away. She tailored a behavioral training plan to meet not only our needs but Ollie’s needs as well. She is very knowledgeable and is an expert. Therefore, we signed Ollie up for the two week boot camp. Post boot camp, Ollie seemed much more confident during her walks. No more refusing to walk, the pulling significantly decreased, she pays attention to us while walking, and there isn’t any more fear/anxiety. Ollie’s leash reactivity towards other dogs has subsided significantly and is under better control. We are continuing to work with Kathleen and Ari and cannot wait to continue to see growth and progress with Ollie. We are very happy with choosing Atlantic K9 and will recommend them to all dog owners.
