I took my dog to this daycare for the first time this week, hoping to find a place that would support her needs, especially since she is a shy dog and I want to get her more socialized with other dogs. I appreciated that they market themselves as being accommodating to shy dogs and in their FAQ, they said they would gradually introduce your dogs to other dogs and "In some cases, this may occur over multiple daycare days". I thought this would be the perfect fit for her, as she’s always been a little hesitant with new dogs. However, on the second day of daycare, I was told that my dog was too anxious and "not a good fit" for their facility. I understand that every dog is different, but I feel like they didn’t give her nearly enough time to adjust. It’s a new environment, new people, and new dogs — of course she was scared and anxious! She needed time to warm up and find her place in the group. What really disappointed me was that they didn’t seem to be patient or willing to give her the time she needed to get comfortable. They mentioned on the first day that it could take a few visits for her to find the right group, but after just two days, they seemed to have already given up on her. It felt like they weren’t really invested in helping her adjust. For those with shy or anxious dogs, I would recommend you make sure the daycare is truly committed to helping them settle in, not just sending them away after a couple of visits. I’m sure this daycare works for some dogs, but unfortunately, it wasn’t the right fit for my girl.
