B.A.R.K. Institute

Very grateful to have the B.A.R.K. team as part of my care for my dogs. TLDR: clean, knowledgeable professionals, standard of excellence, lots of customizations available for your dog. I’ve boarded, trained, and joined memberships with great experiences each time. First connected with BARK for boarding needs and it was the first time I’ve ever really felt comfortable leaving my dogs. They offer tons of activities: nature walks on their large property, play groups, one on one play time, treadmills (great for active minds), obedience training while boarding, and more. You can also use these resources for day training if you are not boarding. The trainers are all wonderful (thank you Jamie, Chloe, Jess, and Sean!) and they have a dedicated team just for boarding (I got to meet Corey and Jose but they have a full staff too). The 24/7 cameras on the dogs are a huge peace of mind. I really appreciated that you must provide vaccination records and have a trial stay over to make sure it’s a good fit. The trial meant I KNEW my dogs would be comfortable with this team once I needed to leave the area. The high standard for health meant they wouldn’t be likely to pick up kennel cough, canine influenza, or any other ailments that spread. Their facility is very clean. They will customize your dog’s visit to whatever is best. I paid extra for some services and they contacted me to say my dog wasn’t enjoying it as much as I had hoped, allowing me to pivot and not waste money. That transparency is huge! Then I transitioned to a board and train for five weeks on one of my dogs. My dog completely fell in love with the trainers which is a sign they truly are building relationships and trust with the dogs. I got frequent photo updates without asking, and they always got back to me promptly when I had requests. I went from being the type of person who was adverse to board and train programs, to instead really thinking highly of the experience. I have since decided to expand and also sign up for the monthly memberships they offer. It allows me to participate in pack walks with other dogs that I know are well socialized, obedient, and healthy. (Guarantees that dog parks do not offer.) I can also drop into group training classes and get regular updates as B.A.R.K. offers new opportunities. Having a vet you trust is key, but having a training and boarding facility I can also trust has been the missing piece I needed. Cannot recommend enough!

We have had five GSDs in our life, with the last two coming from Vogelhaus. Both Vogelhaus dogs were 2-3yrs old when received from their Adult Dog Program (after six weeks of training). Our first three GSDs were not from Vogelhaus and all were raised from pups. If we are fortunate enough to live beyond our current GSD (Otis), there is no doubt in my mind that we would once again ask Vogelhaus to find us another GSD from their Adult Dog program. Both of our GSDs from Vogelhaus have been exceptional- and instant - additions to our family. Their training was bespoke to the world/lifestyle our GSDs live in. Before closing, I would be remiss if I didn’t share our experience as to the character of Vogelhaus. Our first Vogelhaus GSD passed late this summer, and we were all pretty busted up without him, so I immediately contacted Jamie to ask her help in finding us another GSD from her Adult Program. Tapping her vast network, within a week Jamie had identified a 2year old from champion European bloodlines (Otis), secured and transported Otis to the Vogelhaus training facility, confabbed with us re Otis’ training, and then Vogelhaus embarked on a six week training course ( that we got to witness digitally) that ultimately delivered Otis. (It’s important to note that even after delivery, Vogelhaus has always been there to provide us with timely guidance with Otis’ continued training). In short, we feel fortunate/blessed to have Jamie and Vogelhaus guide and provide us with such exceptional family pets. If you are contemplating adding a dog to your family, we strongly recommend that you consider the Vogelhaus Adult Dog program. Here is a picture of our Boy Otis.

Our dog Sadie had a 12-day stay at B.A.R.K while we were on vacation. She’s usually super anxious and wound up after traditional boarding, but this time she came home happy, calm, and healthy. She loved her small group playtime with her “Shepherd Pack” (Tilly and Kane), plus nature walks, field trips, treadmill time, and daily day training as add-ons. Sadie can sometimes be reactive with high-energy dogs, but the training team handled her so well — she was an A+ student the whole stay! We were grateful for the structure, care, and attention she got at B.A.R.K. It’s such a relief knowing she was good hands when away! We look forward to continuing with day training/day care dates in the future!

Where to start???? This place is amazing and the team and owner are like family. We rescued a 6 year old Golden Doodle who was used for breeding. Bella was scared of everything and we didn't know how to help her adjust. Jamie, the owner, and her team worked with Bella for 2 weeks and she has grown into the most loving, beautiful dog...I can't imagine not having her! If not for the care and expertise of this team I don't know if we would have been able to keep her! We have also used their overnight boarding and that too is exceptional...like leaving her with family! Thank you BARK... Mary, Dave, and Bella

I recently had the pleasure of leading a workshop with BARK Institute, and I was thoroughly impressed by their commitment to continued learning and excellence, especially in the area of service dog training. It’s clear that this team not only values ongoing education, but actively seeks out opportunities to grow their knowledge and refine their practices—something that is essential in the ever-evolving field of dog training. The dogs in their program are a true testament to the high standards they uphold. Each one showed exceptional temperament, focus, and training—indicators of both strong foundational work and thoughtful, consistent care. It’s rare to see such a well-rounded combination of skill, structure, and heart in an organization, and BARK delivers on all fronts. Working with a group so dedicated to maintaining high-quality care and training for their dogs was both inspiring and rewarding.
