B.A.R.K. Institute

We could not have had a more positive experience with our trainer Jess & the rest of the team at Bark Institute. While our 1 year old golden, Bennie, was there for his board and train stay, they could not have been more accommodating between sending daily photos & updates while also answering all questions we had at any time of the day. When we initially brought Bennie, he was extremely shy, fearful, anxious, and could not regulate his emotions. By the end of his time with Jess, he is a completely different dog. Bennie is now happy, sociable, and confident! We could not recommend and thank Jess & the bark institute enough.

Big shoutout to Chloe for the past 4 weeks of training with our pup! He used to pull us down the street on walks and jump on everyone who came to the house but now he’s walking nicely and actually listening to commands. We’re so grateful for Chloe’s patience and the tips that made it easy for us to keep the training going at home too. Highly recommend the B.A.R.K. Institute if you’re looking for great training or to just board your dog. The staff is awesome! They even responded to all my texts throughout the day and sent pictures and videos to ease my anxiety. Great place! 🐶

We dropped my little (crazy energetic) guy off for a 4 week puppy training. 1. When I first reached out and spoke with the owner Jamie, she was so kind and answered all of my (many) questions and said to reach out anytime if I had more. (all while caring for a baby)! She is super women. 2. I will have to say that when I walked in the facility my first thought was "Wow, this facility is so clean". I assumed working with dogs all day and having dogs out on the floor for training there would be some "dirt" or smell. There was none! My vet office isn't half as clean as this place is. 3. Chloe, who was very nice, took the time to ask many questions on what I was looking for in his training over the next month. Explaining that they will work on basic commands, but also try to help with the "extra" things I would like help with. 4. They have been on constant communication with me, send daily pics with a little description and also send me a weekly report. I am able to ask (more) questions and they respond quickly! 5. I like that you can see on their instagram page, not only my dog, but other dogs they are training for personal and also for veterans companions. You can get a great sense of how they train AND, they are also super responsive if a message is sent on social media. 6. We have not picked up my pup yet, but in a few days I will get to see how great he has done (and give him tons of love). *For us, so far, we give 5 stars. If something were to change in our review, we will update. Otherwise, don't wait, get your dog trained, now!*

At first, I never imagined that my big, goofy, bow tie–wearing black Lab—who loved everyone and everything—could be considered reactive. Admitting it was hard, because in many ways, he’s the dog version of me. Somewhere along the way, he soaked up my anxiety, which created reactivity. Facing that truth meant lowering my guard, setting aside my pride, and asking for help. Choosing and trusting B.A.R.K. Institute was the best decision I could have made. From daily drop-offs to Corey, who always greets us with calm positivity, to the unwavering support, love, and genuine kindness from Chloe and their newest addition, Sean, to the check-ins and perfectly timed feedback from Jamie—every single interaction made a difference. At first, I was defensive and internalized Jetty’s behaviors as my fault. Jamie helped me see and understand his behavior and mindset in a way that was both professional and heartfelt—never blaming, only encouraging us to trust the process. And then there’s Jetty’s primary trainer, Jess. I joke that she must have drawn the short straw to get assigned to us—but in reality, we couldn’t have been luckier. We were a challenging team: both anxious, easily distracted, stubborn, and (in one case) completely lacking food drive. Jess never gave up on us. She tried different approaches, stayed consistent, set clear expectations, and held us both accountable—while always celebrating our big and small wins. She reminded us that training is a rollercoaster, never faulted us for off days, and even checked in outside of sessions. Jess’s intuition with Jetty was proven time and time again. At B.A.R.K.’s first birthday pawty, within minutes she noticed he was struggling and—without being asked—stepped in to help him refocus. A few quick reps later, Jetty was ready to show off his new mindset to everyone there. Jess is humble, gracious, professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and truly the perfect match for us. Because of the patience, expertise, and what felt like round-the-clock support from the entire B.A.R.K. team, Jetty now moves through the world calmer, happier, and more confident—and so do I. He navigates new environments with a different mindset and continues to surprise himself with new skills and it’s been a pleasure to see him be proud of himself! What started as day training for several months has now shifted into feeling like we’re part of the B.A.R.K. family. B.A.R.K. Institute is the only place I’d ever recommend or trust with my dog. For anyone who is contemplating on seeking training don’t hesitate anymore, reach out! With the assistance from all the staff you will soon understand your dog differently, see that no problem is ever to big, no question is ever considered silly, and be provided with the skills that you need to continue to grow your skills and your dogs confidence which are life changes for those involved! At B.A.R.K. you become a part of their community and family! They truly are one of a kind and simply the best!

Enrolling my Fox Red English Lab at B.A.R.K. Institute is the best thing that could have happened to Jameson and me! I brought Jameson to them as a high energy, unmanageable, stubborn 10-month-old pup. He is very strong, and pulled non-stop when on leash making it impossible to take him anywhere with me. He jumped on people and was very, very difficult to control. Tremendous thanks to his trainer Jessica who transformed him into an obedient, enjoyable, best friend! He truly is a different dog now and I am so happy to be able to enjoy him and continue to build a bond between us. Just today I went on a long walk around the Brick Reservoir with him and he got so many compliments on his behavior. This past Saturday I went on my first field trip with him - we ventured out to the Farmer's Market where there were tons of people, kids, dogs and food aromas! He behaved like a gentleman and received so many compliments that day also. I never would have been able to do any of this without the incredible training program that Jameson went through at B.A.R.K. Institute. I can't thank Jessica enough for the tremendous effort she put into training him. She didn’t give up on him, no matter how challenging he was, and even now she constantly provides encouragement and training tips to help me keep him on track. She has a very special, trusting bond with Jameson that is just incredible to see. Thanks also to Jamie, who I called on a Sunday morning not knowing where to turn next for help - she had me bring him in on Monday morning – the very next day! He spent 7 weeks at B.A.R.K., (yes, that’s what it took to get this rambunctious boy under control!) and the transformation is stunning! I also want to thank Chloe, was assisted in getting this crazy boy on track, and all the other staff members that helped mold him into the best boy! What an incredible facility, a phenomenal team and an overall fantastic experience. I highly recommend B.A.R.K. to anyone who needs any level of training for their dog!
