Ryan is so compassionate, knowledgeable, professional, and easy to work with. We contacted him in regards to training our 9 month large breed (Newfoundland Poodle mix) and he has been amazing so far! Ryan is very flexible with me and my husband’s busy schedules, which is so helpful. We have only had a few sessions so far and we are already seeing improvements in our puppy’s manners and behavior. Balanced K9 Services with Ryan has been life changing for our 1 year old dog. Ryan listened to the problems we were having with our dog and developed a plan to train her. Each visit has built on the skills of the last visit and the progress she has made in less than 2 months is amazing. At each visit, he clearly explained what we are trying to accomplish, why it is important, and how to accomplish the skill. Ryan is very knowledgeable and skilled with dogs. We rescued a female Belgian Malinois puppy from the SPCA back in December, 2023.My husband and I are experienced with the breed, having a now 12+ year old Mal. But it’s been a very long time since we have had a puppy in the house and it was a bit overwhelming. Both for myself and for our senior dog. Ryan listened to our concerns for the senior dog’s safety (the puppy flies across the yard like a missile) and gave us great directions on how to curb her rambunctiousness toward the senior. We worked through sleep training, and every day/ standard commands. She’s a super smart dog and catches on quickly with Ryan’s calm approach and handling. The biggest, and so far, most valuable tool; has been training us on how to train and divert her attention to the mouthy dogs next door. My neighbors have dogs without any manners, and the death match fighting through the fence was more anxiety than any one needs. It made the idea of summer in the yard, playing, a dreadful thought. With Ryan’s instructions, we now have a puppy who can play through the ruckus next door. By ignoring the barking from the unruly dogs, we have found fun and look forward to better days outside. Our next half of our training is e-collar training. Our first day went really well, and I expect we will soon master that too! I can honestly say; I was not all onboard to take on a Mal puppy, but my husband fell in love with her. I was doing my best to fall in love with her, but puppies are difficult. Mals need a lot of work, both physically and mentally and for 90% of her day, it’s all on me. I don’t think I would love this little girl as I do now, if it weren’t for the tools Ryan has given us. She’s developing in to an exceptional dog.
