Big Paws of the Ozarks

I truly cannot say enough good things about Big Paws of the Ozarks. I adopted my dog, Ace, through Big Paws, and one of the things I appreciate most about this organization is that their support didn’t end the day I brought him home. I’m a college student raising Ace on my own, and while he is genuinely one of the best things that has ever happened to me, raising and training a young dog by myself has definitely come with challenges. Whenever I’ve felt overwhelmed or unsure of what to do next, Big Paws has continued to be an incredible resource for both of us. I especially want to recognize Matt Newton, the Director of Training. Matt has been incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, patient, and understanding when it comes to the behavioral and training challenges I’ve experienced with Ace. He took the time to listen to my concerns, understand Ace as an individual dog, and help me feel like we have a realistic path forward. It means so much to have someone who genuinely wants to see both Ace and me succeed together. What makes Big Paws so special is that they truly care about their dogs beyond simply finding them homes. From adopting Ace to now working with their training program, I have continued to feel supported by the same organization that brought him into my life in the first place. As a college student doing my best to give Ace the happiest, healthiest life possible, having that kind of continued support means more than I can explain. I will forever be grateful to Big Paws for bringing Ace into my life and for continuing to help us grow together. I would recommend them to anyone looking to adopt, foster, train, volunteer, or support an organization that genuinely cares about both its animals and its adopters.

We've had a great experience with Big Paws. Each of our 5 lessons has been impactful. Matt was great and gave us a few tips which immediately helped us out as new dog parents. We saw Marshall for the next 4 sessions and he was awesome! Each session was helpful for our dog but it was, possibly, more helpful for us as owners. We were able to ask questions and get informed answers on a variety of topics and we learned a lot about the philosophy behind the training. Marshall was also very encouraging and always upbeat. Highly recommend!

Marhsall is a miracle worker. Our pup learned more than we could have imagined in 2 short weeks. Marshall communicated daily, with pictures and videos of the progress. And it's obvious that he loves all of the dogs he works with. He was also very patient with us as we learned how to implement the training tools. We could not have asked for a better experience, and he exceeded all expectations. All of the stars!

Marshall did an incredible job with our pup during board and train! He was very patient with our blind dog and made sure to advocate for her as much as possible. He sent consistent updates and videos which was a huge bonus!! We would do it again in a heartbeat, our dog was very safe and loved and came back to us with some great training and we have some very valuable knowledge about how to continue working with our dog’s needs!
