Big Paws of the Ozarks

Our foster dog Drake did an 8 day board and train with Marshall. Drake learned everything we wanted during that short time period! Drake had zero self-control. He was easily stimulated with balls (basketballs, soccer balls, baseballs, footballs, etc) and anytime someone walked into a room. He would jump non stop to the point of being unsafe for anyone near him. Now we have the appropriate tools and words to keep Drake under control! Marshall sent daily videos and photos. Marshall could definitely be a professional photographer! I’m guessing he would say, “if your dog is trained then you can take amazing photos of your dog too!” Marshall uses a lot of positive reinforcement which Drake loves! We just got our baby back, Marshall was his trainer and I have to say I’m both shocked impressed and excited all in one to fineally be able to understand what goes through our puppy’s head, or atleast that’s how Marshall makes it feel when he explained it all. Such a great trainer we took him to Lowe’s and pet smart, for our own experience with river”our dog” right after and to see how much has changed in such a short time really shows how great a trainer can be. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Christian at Big Paws! Christian has trained both of our dogs, ESPN and RooBee, who do therapy dog work with Roo’s World, our after-school care program, and we are incredibly grateful to have him as their trainer. Christian truly went above and beyond with RooBee. After I became inconsistent with reinforcing her training, she went back to Christian for a refresher and the difference has been incredible. He brought out the absolute best in her again! She is focused, confident, responsive, and back in full form. What makes Christian exceptional goes far beyond his ability to train dogs. He genuinely cares. He answers our questions, communicates throughout the process, sends texts and pictures, and takes the time to make sure we understand how to continue the work at home. You never feel like you’re just another client. Watching RooBee successfully work in the middle of a busy Farmers Market with children, bikes, dogs, crowds, noises, and distractions everywhere while remaining focused and following her commands was such a proud moment. That is a direct reflection of Christian’s patience, consistency, knowledge, and dedication. Christian is truly TOP-NOTCH. ⭐️ He has earned our trust, our gratitude, and our highest recommendation. This investment in training for my newly adopted dog Tenzing was well worth the time and expense. We trained with Marshall and had an extraordinary experience!! I don't know who learned more, me or my dog. Marshall took the time to explain the training as well as model how to do it and then provide specific feedback to improve as I practiced with my dog. Marshall made training fun for both of us using games as a way to practice skills. I've done group obedience training in the past and after this experience, I won't go back to that model. Big Paws is different in that this engages the dogs more in decision making and I found that skills stuck better and are transferable across settings. It's a higher quality training that removed a lot of stress for me and I'm sure it did for Tenzing too. This truly changed my relationship with my dog and made it stronger.
