Big Sky K9

We are so fortunate to have worked with Sam and Sara at Big Sky K9! We knew we had a smart and wonderful puppy that had a lot of basics down pretty well but he expressed some behaviors like food aggression and resource guarding and neither my husband or I really knew how to address this. My husband spoke with Sara on the phone and she detailed all of the different programs they offered and we ultimately decided that if we were going to be without our buddy, we should do the full program which is their 3 week board and train. It was a hard decision because we knew we’d miss him but it was worth it to address these issues early on and we owed it to our kids to ensure he was on his best behavior so we could all enjoy this wonderful puppy! Both Sara and Sam sent daily videos as well as updates on what they worked on and any miscellaneous information regarding our puppy. Their communication is wonderful and we always felt very clued in on how he was doing / progressing. They both also respond very quickly and it’s so appreciated knowing how they are working non stop with our dog as well as the other dogs in their care. At the end of the 3 weeks, we not only reunited with our new little guy but we got a one on one training session going over all the things our puppy had been learning and making sure we were going home keeping him on track for the best success. We returned home and we do not face any concerning issues over food aggression or resource guarding. He has been a gentleman to our kids who are always snacking and does not steal from them. When he seems like he’s interested in their food now, we use the tools Sam and Sara taught us and he’s much more behaved. He’s also better about when he’s eating and our older dog and cat are near but will actually share the water dish with our older dog and I didn’t really see that happening before training! He used to counter surf right in front of us and it was getting difficult to make food as he was growing so quickly and could easily reach most things on the counter but his manners in the kitchen are 1000 times better now. At nearly 7 months, he is really well behaved and we’re so thankful we’ve learned the best tools to help him grow into a gentleman. We feel confident that when we face issues and challenges moving forward that we can utilize the training methods Sam and Sara shared with us and have the best possible outcome. I highly recommend Big Sky K9 as I not only believe in their training methods but I also feel that they are genuinely passionate about helping dogs improve their skills so they can be a happier and more confident family member. Our family is very grateful for Sam and Sara and their dedication to our buddy, Scout ♥️

Five stars is nowhere near enough for the amount of satisfaction & appreciation I feel for Big Sky K9! We sent our two English Labrador siblings through the two week board & train program with Sam & Sarah and WOW! This is hands down the best investment I have ever made and will ensure my dogs are able to accompany us on all of our adventures & really achieve their full potential. The amount of love & care they showed my dogs while they were in the program was above & beyond. The professionalism and love they have for their jobs is so refreshing! I highly recommend Big Sky K9 and I am so grateful to have found them!
