Money well spent for sure! In just 2 days of applying Andrew's training tips for our dauchund, Freida Noodle is so much better! Andrew really takes the time to understand your personal situation with your pet and offers tons of information and training tips and tools, really breaking down the psychological reasons of the behavior problem and offering personalized suggestions on how to correct the behavior. We look forward to seeing more progress with the training practices and tools he has show us. Black belt has been so supportive through the whole process, checking in afterwards, not just taking the money and running. Our first session with Andrew was transformational. We already had a seven-year-old golden lab who we rescued and we took two years to decide to bring another dog into our home so we put money down on a puppy that was born in December. Even though I’ve had children and dogs before it just didn’t resonate with me the overwhelming feeling I was going to feel the first week the puppy was home. He was chewing everything and stressing our dog out, or so I thought, and peeing everywhere . I was super stressed when I felt like I couldn’t even leave my house. We looked online for dog trainers and found Blackbelt Canine Academy. I spoke with Mallory and felt hope almost immediately. She told me Andrew could come out and spend a couple hours, giving us direction plans, tips and tricks. And he did , 2 1/2 hours or so, and he filled us with so much information, he gave us great advice, and plans to go forward. He explained many things about our older dog and the puppy and the dynamic between them which put us at ease. Once we fell into line with the plan, everything started getting better. Our dogs get along great because they’re actually doing what they’re supposed to be doing and our older dog is actually helping us in the training. Of course we still have a long ways to go but having a schedule for potty breaks and just advice on what to do has helped us immensely. We are so excited with what we learned and we know we want our dogs to be trained well for peace in our home and for their safety so went ahead and got more training times lined up for once our puppy hits 16 weeks. Andrew is quite knowledgeable, very personable and breaks it down so it’s easy to understand. Highly recommend!!

I can't begin to describe how wonderful Andrew is as a dog trainer. We brought him on when we were at our wit's end with our 9-month old puppy. By the end of our first hour-long session with Andrew, we felt like a dark cloud had lifted. Andrew was calm, encouraging, funny, knowledgable, and gave us simple, easy-to-understand tools to train our dog. Within the first few days, we saw a HUGE difference. After one month, it was night and day. I can't recommend Andrew highly enough.

We had an incredible experience with Andrew Sherwood at Black Belt Canine Academy. Over the course of ten sessions, our rescue dog completely transformed. When we started, he was constantly barking, inattentive, doing his own thing, and clearly unsure of boundaries or leadership. By the end of training, he was well behaved, calm, and able to reliably follow commands including sit, stay, heel, down, and come—both on and off leash.
