I cannot say enough incredible things about Blue Ridge Canine Academy. To be completely honest, we started this journey overwhelmed and uncertain. We had never owned a dog, and after getting a German Shepherd for our son, we quickly realized we were unprepared for the intensity, intelligence, and needs of this breed. I am not proud to say this but we even had painful conversations about whether rehoming her might be the best option, but emotionally, we just couldn’t do that. We believe if you make the decision to get an animal you have to do everything in your power to make it work. We owed it to her… Realizing we did not have to skills to set our dog up for success, we reached out to Blue Ridge Canine Academy. Truly, this decision changed everything. From the very beginning, the Cameron, Kamila, and Courtney met us with zero judgment and 100% professionalism, compassion, and confidence. They didn’t just train our dog; they trained us, supported our family, and believed in our success even when we doubted ourselves. Their dedication goes far beyond obedience commands. It was apparent from day one that their business model is about building a healthy, sustainable relationship between dog and owner. As part of the program, they offered follow-up, individual training sessions to make sure we are supported as long as we need. When we returned for our first follow-up session, our dog was so excited to see the team. This reaction confirmed what we already knew, they truly care and build relationships with the dogs that are in their care. Cameron and Courtney deserve special recognition as our training team. I started with Cameron to begin training with my GSD pup. It was a great experience. He helped me with all of the issues that I was having with puppy training and also loading and beginning Healing and leash training. Cameron and his staff are incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. They are very professional And a pleasure to work with. I also Boarded my pup for training for an additional two weeks. The results were wonderful. I will be going back to schedule for further Training soon! This was much better than any training experience than I had with other trainers with my previous GSD‘s.

Sent my dog all the way across the country to Blue Ridge for PSA bitework and training. They have been well worth the investment! Cameron and Kamila have been so communicative, they ask me what I want without assuming, they don’t get offended if I ask a question; the lack of ego has been such a nice change of pace vs other trainers I’ve worked with, and I am so grateful to be able to be part of the process. I really appreciate that the focus has been on building confidence, attitude, and foundational skills. My dog is doing phenomenal out there. Truly grateful for these guys!

We’ve trained with Cameron from Blue Ridge Canine Academy multiple times for protection work, and he is truly outstanding. He is an amazing decoy—extremely safe, professional, and very skilled at reading the dog in real time. He is also very nice, highly energetic, and brings a great attitude to every session. Cameron has an excellent eye for detail and is fantastic at troubleshooting issues and adjusting training to bring out the best in both dog and handler. We always leave sessions feeling confident and productive. Highly recommend him to anyone serious about protection training.
